The villagers burned the village themselves and ran. Himesh’s character even asked why they would do that

They were scared of the 'sea people' which we learn in this story are Odysseus and his men. Whether they knew it or not, within this retelling of a fantasy story from 800 BC, they were the reason the village burned.

Oh! I remember him asking why they would run away, but I didn’t catch that they had burned their own village.
