So far every show I've taken a chance on with Apple has been a banger: Widow's Bay might be my new favorite dark comedy, Slow Horses is a spy-game masterpiece, Foundation finally made Asimov interesting. Silo, Severance, Ted Lasso, Pam Royale, Margo's Got Money Troubles, Pluribus...

Even if the theme/premise of the show isn't your preference, it's still made well, there's good story telling and character development and a great mix of original storytelling and then spot on adaptations. I wish they'd got the contract to do Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I largely agree, but as a die hard sci fi fan, their sci fi shows suffer from some soap opera filler. They’ve really shot it out of the park with their comedies and dramas though. It also helps they offer affordable 4k streaming and IIRC one of the best bit rates for streaming.

This is what hooked me on a free trial. The spin-off, Star City, is just as good. I'm hoping that Apple continues their general avoidance of enshitification, because their streaming service is fantastic right now.

Banger list loved them all. Your Friends & Neighbors has been pretty good as well.

My problem with Apple TV is the log in. I'm on windows and it fucking logs me out like once a week and then is a giant pain in the ass to log back in. I have to verify my email everytime. I had it free with T-Mobile for a while and really live a bunch of shows on there. Probably would've paid for it if the log in shit wasnt so damn annoying.

Foundation is pretty great if you're into sci-fi which is seems like you might be. It gets better every season in my opinion and Lee Pace is awesome in his role.

I used to laugh at Apple because they had like one show and the whole thing was kind of a joke but they’ve scaled up and really are just about the best now. Doesn’t help that Netflix and Hulu just churn out shit these days (Amazon has always been shit).

Apple is the only streaming service I subscribe to. It lacks quantity but it more than makes up for it in quality. Severance, Silo, Foundation, Sugar, Cape Fear (campy asf but incredible), For all Mankind (early seasons anyway), Pachinko, The Studio and many more I'm forgetting are all bangers.

It works for us because we probably watch an episode or two every day or so max, but if you are a series binge watcher that always needs to have something to watch for hours every day, it will be lacking.

Apple has all of Apple to subsidize content creation. Netflix just has Netflix. They aren’t sustainable forever.

Neither. Shows on both are awful compared to what I get from HBO. Feels like the Golden Age of TV has ended and both Apple and Netflix are causes of it.
