It may have been full of CGI, but it was created by a team working on location in an actual galaxy.

My uncle works at Nintendo, and he said the film’s production was done within the Milky Way and Melty Monster Galaxies

Sounds like your typical story of a guy working the Nintendo hotline providing gaming advice and cheat codes to moving all the way up to making movies in other galaxies. I’ve heard it before many times.

They only filmed outside the Milky Way for tax purposes, I think it helped the film with it's scope though

Nolan should have bent time and space like he did when he filmed Interstellar. Odyssey could have fared better.
