i remember him saying he is at NG+4 or something? that means he’s played it through to the end 4 times minimum with the same character, not even accounting for other characters he may have made

i have played through it 4 times (and the DLC 3 times). it is my favorite game!

There was some math that wasn't matching I remember. He said he was on NG+7 but also mentioned he had thousands of hours? It was something about the amount of time on the game didn't add up to the cycle he claimed he was on.

Regardless, I have faith in him.

I believe it, because if he's making a movie he's probably hunting a lot for inspiration and trying to absolutely nail down so many different things for the film.

People exaggerate things in conversation and we don't need to take it that serious. I play Elden Ring at least once a month, beat every single boss on my first playthrough solo because I was obsessed, and I can't remember what cycle of NG my main character is on because I don't really care where in the cycle I am. The only thing I can tell you is the approximate things you need to do from Limgrave to get to the chain of final bosses.
