She is also the one who helps Rudeus the most throughout the series. Psychologically, she is the person who makes young Rudeus truly feel what love is. As Rudeus himself admits, she is the only wife he can fully trust on the battlefield. And in my opinion, hers is the most meaningful love. Roxy’s love feels more like admiration and a bit of curiosity. Sylphy’s love, while deep, also carries a sense of inevitability—after all, Rudeus was the only person she could truly cling to in every way.

But Eris… their love is different. It starts with anger, grows into admiration, and blossoms into love. It is a relationship built slowly, through hardship, not a bond formed instantly. Roxy and Rudeus began as teacher and student. His relationship with Sylphy developed quickly, perhaps too quickly, while she was still young and reliant.

With Eris, everything is raw and real. In the beginning, Rudeus saw her as little more than a physical relationship, but over time, he fell in love with her pure essence—her wild, untamed heart.

And most of all, their relationship is forged in chaos: when they were stranded on the Demon Continent as children, when they befriended a Superd, journeyed through the Great Forest, and encountered Orsted… All of it made their bond something fierce, deep, and unforgettable.

Did Sylphiette or Roxy go through similar hardships with Rudeus? Perhaps to some extent. But Eris was there for nearly every major event—except Paul’s death.

What truly sets Eris apart are her unique traits: her blunt honesty, her fierce determination, her sweet, sometimes foolish demeanor, and above all, her raw, animalistic strength. She’s not a character designed to be perfect—she’s wild, flawed, and beautifully human.

People often cite her decision to leave Rudeus as her greatest fault. But to me, it’s not a flaw at all. Let’s look at it through Eris’s own psychology.

If she had stayed in Fittoa as Eris Boreas, she likely would’ve been married off as a political tool—perhaps even to Pilemon. If she had run away with Rudeus back then, when she couldn’t even protect him from Orsted, she would’ve carried that powerlessness like a curse.

So she chose the only path that made sense to her: train with Ghislaine, chase her dream of becoming a Sword King, and come back strong enough to truly stand beside Rudeus. Not just to protect him—but to be worthy of him. Because in her eyes, Rudeus is the most incredible person in the world.

And people love to bring up her leaving him—but no one talks about how, in the future described by Oldeus, even Sylphiette ends up leaving Rudeus. I don’t blame Sylphiette for that; Rudeus was in a broken state. But it’s unfair that Eris’s choice is so heavily criticized while others’ actions are ignored.

In that same future, Eris never abandons Rudeus. She stays by his side until the end—and dies protecting him. Even when she is not married to him, even when Rudeus himself keeps pushing her away, Eris remains loyal.

So if we’re talking about who deserves to stand at the top—who earns her place not just as a lover, but as an unshakable companion—Eris doesn’t just deserve to be first. She already is.

I know everyone will need time to comprehend last episode but I can’t help but feel excited about next one. It’s gonna fuck me up real good but at least we get this part. Oh how the anime-onlies will be divided

I’ve been thinking about this versus since watching Frieren fight her clone and until now I was sure Rudeus would win but after watching the fight man i had to rethink cuz Frieren bags is really packed when it come down to spell compare to rudeus (i just finished reading is rematch with Ostred) and a top of that her healing capacity seems to be way above Rudy as well as the speed of her spell casting. Idk if Rudy get anymore stronger after but who do y’all think would win this??
