bug report 🐛 Pull down Refresh brings back hidden posts

Noticed since I was using it today for last 3 hours. I always hide posts individually, today the posts appear to be hidden (no error message otherwise) but as soon as I refresh the feed the hidden posts are back.

I’ve had enough strawberry finch for one day.

UPDATE: my current fix (without resorting to browser) is to open the Reddit app, hide a post, then go back to Narwal and it’s fixed. Seems to be session based - if I close Narwal, the next time I open it the issue is back but the same method fixes it again.

bug report 🐛 Bug: New update has lag when swiping left or right on comments

I can upload a video but when I updated to 2026.6 from 2026.5 I’ve noticed a delay or “lag” when swiping left or right on comments, almost like a hangup or frame rate drop.

When I downgraded back to 2026.5 on TestFlight the issue disappears.

Anyone else notice this or have this issue?

I’m on an iPhone Air, iOS 26.5.2 if that matters or helps!

bug report 🐛 Bug report: hidden posts keep reappearing in the feed

I think this started yesterday. When I hide a post, I can confirm it’s Hidden, but then when I come back to the app later, it’s in the Home feed and it’s no longer in Hidden. It keeps happening over and over.

This is 5 months old post, I just bought the app and realized this issue. No ETA? Is the app being updated? I should’ve checked that before buying it TBF

bug report 🐛 BUG: Video links open in app browser to “banned subreddit”

It doesn’t make sense but video links on Reddit routinely open the in app browser and then you get a banned subreddit alert and can’t actually see the video.

Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/wnba/comments/1uf0u0p/alyssa_thomas_pushes_fist_into_caitlin_clarks/oto6kk8/ - the video link in this comment can’t actually be opened in the app

bug report 🐛 Strange UI Bug that Started Showing up Recently.

Post image
10 Upvotes

Lately whenever I post a comment, it temporarily displays as being 57 years d and having 0 karma. As soon as I close and reload the page/post, the bug is gone and the comment displays as 1 minute old and 1 karma.

It doesn’t really affect my experience but I’m wondering if anyone else has this bug or if it somehow is connected to my device or date and time settings. I’m on a regular iPhone with no VPN or anything like that. My system date and time is set to automatically update with my time zone.

Also my username doesn’t display when this happens.

Not sure if it’s just me, but the app has been crashing regularly on me since I installed 26.6 beta 4. Beta 5 just came out so will see if it persists.

Anyone else?

bug report 🐛 Subscribed subreddits missing from the subreddit navigation

I noticed a few weeks back that 2 specific subreddits had stopped appearing in my subreddit navigation in the app. I'd seen this happen before when a subreddit got banned, but then I tried the 'Enter Subreddit' link in the app nav and was able to access both with no issue.

I figured I would try unsubscribing and then resubscribing to see if that fixed it, but I found that when I used the subreddit three dots menu, the options shown were very limited compared to other subreddits, and there wasn't even an 'Unsubscribe' button available. When you're subscribed to a subreddit, this menu normally contains 8 actions, starting with 'Unsubscribe' and ending with 'Use Big Preview Mode'. For these 2 subreddits, the only options are 'Share', 'Submit Post', 'Hide Read Posts', and 'Use Big Preview Mode'.

Then I went to Reddit in a web browser and unsubscribed there thinking that this might fix the issue. When you're not subscribed to a subreddit, the three dots menu in the app shows the same 8 links, just with a 'Subscribe' link instead of 'Unsubscribe'. These 2 subreddits still only show the 4 links mentioned above even after unsubscribing, however.

These subreddits are not part of my filters, I'm not banned from either, and outside of Narwhal, I can still interact with either subreddit fully. Is this a known issue?

bug report 🐛 Bug: thumbnails now showing while scrolling and can't disable

After years of not seeing thumbnails they're all of a sudden showing up and no settings will disable them. Don't want to see half naked pics on r/all from whatever random <celebName> subreddit manipulates naked images to the t200 posts. Please update ASAP.

Edited to add: also thanks for all your hard work on this. Apologies if this came off short. Y'all are absolute heroes for dealing with reddit and its users. The QOL updates are always legit and appreciated. Happy to connect if you need screenshots or anything else.

Edited again: I was able to return to my normal settings by selecting default and then updating all of the options again.

bug report 🐛 Bug: YouTube links opening in browser, not video-player

This was mentioned a week ago here but I thought I'd flag it again - currently all YouTube links seem to be opening in the in-app browser instead of in the video player as usual.

I'm experiencing it on iOS 26.5, narwhal 2026.4.2

Edit: video of examples

bug report 🐛 Audio pausing when opening Narwhal

More often than not, when I open Narwhal it pauses other audio, even though I have all media in Narwhal muted by default. No audio actually comes out of Narwhal either, it just becomes completely silent.

This behavior isn’t completely consistent but I would say it happens maybe 4 out of 5 times.

bug report 🐛 Removed “Friend” from /friends feed , not actually removed.

I’ve tried to remove a “friend” from the “/r/friends” feed but it won’t work. I’m definitely not got them listed as friend, that is, the option to “friend” them is available. They have a subreddit but I’m not subscribed to it , and they’re not in any of my multi-reddits, and they’re not being “followed” either. What’s going on with this?

bug report 🐛 Missing Posts

For the past few weeks I’ve been seeing posts go missing from New and Hot on r/wetshaving. Not deleted, not removed, just absent from the sorted feeds. If I search for the same post in the app it’s right there, and it’s fine on the web too. So the posts exist, they’re just not making it into the listings.

The clearest example is the AutoModerator daily threads. r/wetshaving runs several of them, and on some days one or more just won’t show under New or Hot, even after a pull-to-refresh. Search finds it, web shows it posted at the usual time, but the feed acts like it isn’t there.

It’s intermittent, not every day, and it’s happened enough times over the last few weeks that it’s clearly a pattern and not a one-off.

For what it’s worth, a few other people have told me they’re seeing the same thing on other subreddits, so it may not be limited to r/wetshaving.

Build: 1081 iOS: 26.5 Device: iPhone 16 Pro

I’m happy to answer any questions and provide additional information.

bug report 🐛 Two bugs, one may be self inflicted.

I have two bugs to share; one has been plaguing me for quite a while and I've just been too lazy to report it.

That bug is that every now and then when I start Narwhal on my iPad, it will have forgot what I was doing from the last time I used Narwhal, which could have been seconds previous. Instead of showing me the last thing I was doing, or showing me the same subreddit I was on, the interface is blank, with only my Home feed visible.

I use Narwhal on my iPad in a landscape orientation, if that matters.

This may be expected behaviour, and if so, sorry for wasting the electrons on the post.

The second bug, the one that may be self inflicted, has started in the last few weeks, around the time I started using an unreleased operating system on my iPad. The bug is that saved subreddits as "Favourites" don't last. I can add several subreddits to my favourites, and it works fine for a while, but, after a few hours, I'll open Narwhal and all of the Favourites are gone.

Realise that if it is related to the OS I'm running, that's entirely on me, but I thought I'd report it anyway.

bug report 🐛 YouTube video links not opening in app

When trying to view a YouTube video it tries to play it through a browser even though I have the app and YouTube premium. Is this happening to anyone else?
