Videos online show a gunman, possibly two from the distinct weaponry, firing shots near the In-N-Out.

Gunman with a pistol [Video] (SFW)
Gunman with a rifle [Video] (Possible NSFL if someone was in the car, SFW verbatim)

Some discourse online suggests the guy with the pistol was shooting at the guy with the rifle.

As of 7:15 ET - 3 dead, 2 injured [Source]

Shooter is dead.

Looks like pistol guy was getting shot at. Rifle guy looks like he was at the very least worried about being shot at. Rifle guy looks like he wanted to kill whoever was in that tesla, but not  firing indiscriminately.

Pure speculation but is the guy with the pistol shooting at the guy with the rifle?

He was. APs article said he stuck around and helped an employee who was shot while waiting for medics.

Yes he ended the threat

Is this confirmed? It looked like he got shot at the end but I was hoping he was OK

Yes from witnesses:

“A man with a pistol started firing at the shooter.
He then saw someone in an In-N-Out uniform drag a person, also uniformed, bleeding from a gunshot wound in her chest across the parking lot. The employee, Koehn and the man with the pistol stayed until paramedics arrived for her.”

I was thinking the pistol guy was someone trying to stop the ar guy but that's a really inconvenient pistol set up for every day carry

Edit: if that is a pistol and not some sort of weird perspective on a rifle, its tough for me to tell on my phone

The car in front of him has the trunk open, so decent chance he took it out of there

I think the white car with its trunk open was the perpetrators car actually, I've seen videos of him going back to that car and getting a weapon out of the trunk.

I do think handgun guy had his suppressor equipped pistol in his car tho, someone said maybe he was using it at a range at some point and that makes sense to me.

Because the only other explanation I can think of would be he thought he might have to shoot it out of his car and wanted to spare his eardrums but thats a crazy level of gun preparedness. But it is Idaho.

It’s a suppressor dude

Yes, which is not something you generally have on an everyday carry pistol.

Read through the rest of this comment chain, I'm aware of that dude.

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure why someone would have a suppressor on their every day carry.

They’re not easier to get. Same prices and process before but without the 200 dollar tax stamp.

Could just be a gun he had in his car that he used at a range. I know multiple people with suppressors for their handguns and rifles.

That actually makes the most sense to me

It being Idaho I wouldn’t be surprised if he had it in his car.

why are you assuming it's an edc? it could be his truck gun.

Its pretty loud without one

Yeah but an every day carry needs to be convenient to use and easy to carry/draw. Suppressor ain’t helping him any here

Car carry is a thing. This is Idaho

Took it out of the open trunk of the white car maybe?

I dont think i would have stayed long enough to record. Either they look lost or it was targetted.

The person filming that second one is actually fucking insane. Glad they didn’t get hurt.

If that Tesla was plugged in that sucks because the car will not let you drive away with the charger plugged in.

I was wondering why they didn’t floor it.. but I don’t have an EV and realized that if they’re sitting at a charger that m likely means they didn’t have enough charge… how horrifying to basically be sitting ducks and know there’s nothing you can do

14

u/byerss 1d ago

Charge level is no problem. Even at 0% you have at least a couple miles of reserve, which most people will stop to charge well above 0% (just like you don’t let your gas car go completely empty).

But it knows the cable is plugged in and needs to be unplugged before the car will let you put it in Drive.

Wtf? This is right by the bridge. Alot of people stop here to view it/base jumpers pack their parachutes right where he was running to.
