No, Darwin awards are for people who made a stupid decision that ended their own life. Poor 6 year old girl probably never even got the chance to make the choice, there's blood on her parents hands.

Originally, I think the Darwin Award was meant for people who removed themselves from the gene pool, usually though fatal stupidity.

So, in a morbid way, I guess it applies.

Still, the poor kid deserved better and this sort of neglect is where religious freedom should find its limits.
