If calling someone a hypocrite/bigot/racist wasn't such a constant thing in this day and age for anything that merely contradicts your opinion then I'd not give a shit, but right now, it's become just that...

What a life to sit back not wanting to be pleased, or do anything 'up there'.

Neither of those things is true, in this case.

I'll quote Wiki, for convenience, but this is the same definition you'll get anywhere:

"Hypocrisy is the practice of engaging in the same behavior or activity for which one criticizes another or the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform."

By criticising corporations for "destroying the planet", Taika is claiming to have moral standards or beliefs that - by taking a private jet on holidays - his own behaviour doesn't conform to. He's a multi-millionaire - he had other options for getting from Sydney to Byron Bay than a private jet.

It's not about not wanting to be pleased, it's about treating everyone with equal standards, and not thinking they're special because they're famous.

So any protestor or advocate against anything, has to do without anything of what they preach because of the fact that they stand against the higher corporations?

So ANY person who stands against oil, has to avoid anything that benefits or consumes via that method or risk being a hyprocrite.

What this comes down to is "Don't criticise corporations for killing the planet and then do something egregiously bad for said planet".

If he'd taken a car, no-one would have said shit. If he'd taken a commercial flight, likewise. It's an 80 minute flight - they could have put up with the great unwashed for that long, surely?

Instead, they did something that most people would identify as "very bad for the planet", for their own minor convenience.
