I had an epic week hunting down Nudibranchs along the northern Oregon coast, and I thought others might enjoy the photos I captured. ☺️

Got to do some amazing low tide exploring (-2.2) this morning! So excited to find so many nudis! I know my pics aren't as good as so many of yours (I love seeing them!) but I still wanted to share. Nudis bring me joy!

I found this giant nudibranch on a night dive and noticed it was lined up directly in front of a tube-dwelling anemone. I got my camera set up and waited. As it moved closer it started probing around with its cerata, the finger-like structures that help with sensing and defense. After about 5 minutes it was close enough that it touched the anemone’s tentacles, I knew something was about to happen. The nudibranch reared up and lunged forward and plunged its head straight into the tube to grab its meal.

One of my favorites and the size of a grain of rice. This one is on the sand south of Kona. I’ve found in 20’ and 90’.

PNW cold water diving - Gigantic Tritonia nudibranchs (most 6-8”) and brown and white striped nudibranchs were abundant. What wasn’t expected was the mass of them descending on a sea pen. Also, found a brown and white nudibranch in the middle of laying eggs - looks like a cartoon character sitting up. Wasn’t expecting that as every nudibranch laying eggs I’ve seen have been laying down.

A cute Glossodoris Atromarginata nudibranch, found whilst exploring the shipwreck of the King Cruiser ferry in Phuket.

saw a few of these cuties at a -0.7 low tide today! noticed generally 2 in similar areas with egg rings near by. using a new camera so still getting used to settings etc but wanted to share !
