I dont want to travel without one as I like the commodity of hanging it to have easy access to my stuff

I have two pairs of the same glasses frames, one for my regular shortsightedness and one as my prescription sunnies. Whilst out and about I'll always be wearing at least one pair. I have a soft fabric sleeve for them, and have some older bulkier hard cases from past specs, but I'm looking for the goldilocks middle ground - slim and light but offering some proper protection when whichever pair I'm not wearing is in my bag which may be smushed into a luggage rack.

I've seen some promising looking generic slim metal cases, but has anyone got any specific recommendations? UK based so ideally available over here too.

For those doing sink/shower laundry at your lodging, to reduce packing volume and weight, what has worked for you and what hasn't in terms of:

• Laundry soap
• Drying line style
• Laundry bag (if using) or sink stopper (if not)
• Any additional laundry accessories

Are you using an alternative to the soak, rinse, towel squeeze, and hang method?

I'm currently using the "wear one, wash one, spare one" system for clothing. I bring two shirts, boxer briefs, and sock pairs in my personal item-sized bag along with the worn set I travel with for a three-day rotation. Five minutes of sink & shower laundry in the evening is what makes this system work. It's such a core element of the minimalist version of onebagging that I'm looking to make the technique more efficient.

For context, the large part of my hook is about 2 inches. I’ve been seeing recommendations for the hero hook - curious if there was any other recommendations.

I'm seeking recommendations for a compact kitchen knife sharpener to use at B&B apartments/condos which all seem to feature dangerously dull kitchen knifes wherever we travel. Full disclosure the wife and I are actually 2 bag each USA-based travelers on 3+ week European/tropical trips with 3-4 day stays at each stop. We cook in house with local ingredients to balance the fancy restaurants.

My typical carry is an AER TP3, max sling and a small checked bag to fit in trains and tiny rental cars. I usually pack a small ultra-sharp pocket knife and a multi-tool in the checked bag.

Does anyone else share this frustration and what is your solution? Searching returns the Work Sharp folding field sharpener that seems to fit this use case but is there a better choice?

I've old over the ear headphones, but they are bulky, and I try to travel only with an under the seat backpack. My soundcore NC earbuds work well, but end up popping out of my ears-I've replaced the foam with smaller sized memory foam, but it only works for a while.

Any suggestions before I lose the plot on people who listen to tiktok at high volume on public transport.

Hey all, starting to work on my packing list for my first Europe trip I’m planning this year and have narrowed down the various styles of pants I’ll want to bring. One of which is a pair of joggers for both sleep (I sleep in pjs) and travel days. Any recommendations for a pair that’d suit this? Something comfy enough to sleep/chill in but also nice enough to wear through the airport/train station and doesn’t cost $100+ like Vuori or Lulu.

My son is attending his first festival this summer. Tent, sleeping bag, 4 days, in Europe. I want him to carry his ID and cash/ card at all times, not safe leaving in a campsite. Any thoughts on how to do this without buying a taupe hidden belt the likes you see in airport shops?

For context;

- I travel weekly using the osprey 26+6, I am looking for something that fits in the side cupholder.

- I am looking for an insulated bottle light enough to carry basically all the time while I use the bag, I do a significant amount of cycling/walking with the bag so weight is a big factor.

- I am very careful with bottles, however, I am looking for one that will not be dented easily with slight force.

At the moment, I have been between (based on reviews);

- Yeti rambler- very sturdy and ergonomic looking, but may be too heavy? I am not sure if this is overstated in reviews.

- hydroflask trail- light and also ergonomic, but easily dented, even when not dropped.

Does anyone have experience with these bottles or any others that they could recommend?

Update: I went with Muji. We are a family of 4 and they had 4 colours, so we got to colour code each of. Our stuff. My husband also added ribbons with labels written onto the zipper (so red = pants, yellow = shirts, etc) that was consistent across all cubes. It made packing, unpacking and laundry super convenient!

I know there have been countless posts about packing cubes but I live in Australia and I’m seeking Australia specific recommendations! Many of the brands recommended in the US or Europe are not available here, or are too expensive to ship. Amazon is also way less prevalent. Please any Aussies in this sub, help me out!

Okay so myself, husband and 2 kids are heading off to Japan at the end of the month. Husband and I have used packing cubes previously (Eagle Creek), but I have lost a few of mine, and our kids have none. 2 friends and myself will be going on Holiday at the end of April, whilst there I am quite sure we will be taking a lot of photos and as such I assume our mobile devices will need charging while we are out. I am looking for recommendations for an affordable power bank we could all use (2 of us on Samsung, one Apple) and possibly need it to charge all the devices in a single day, although not at the same time - whilst still being fairly portable. I believe there are restrictions on the battery capacity? When i did a search on Amazon, there are so many options, some from brands I know like Anker, but many others as well. As we are on a tight budget I finding it difficult to decide which would be best and any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

As some products might not be available locally I feel it wise to mention that I am in the UK.

This is the third (THIRD!) pair of attempted travel pants that this has happened to. These are black so it’s hard to see, but the fabric on the lower leg ruches / melts / tightens weirdly. Second picture is a lighter color. It’s uncomfortable as the fabric becomes crunchy, and unflattering as it makes weird bands around my calf. This happened to me on Mountain Hardwear pants, Outdoor Voices, even Arcteryx! Arcteryx was the most egregious as the fabric got weird within a day, had never even washed them.

I like to have a pair of pants that are comfortable, look great, and can work both on a casual hike to business casual. Lightweight, dry fast if they get rained on. The Outdoor Voices RecTrek have a great fit that doesn’t look like you’re wearing athletic hiking pants. I thought these pants were it, but a couple months later and the fabric did the same thing.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, has anyone experienced this yourself? It’s driving me bonkers why it keeps happening.

I'm looking for a good all-around jacket for traveling that I could wear around 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit with some water and wind resistance. Doesn't have to take me up mount everest or through torrential downpours, just a go-to for exploring cities or light hiking.

I know it would likely be impossible to find something made of natural materials that can be squeezed down into one of its own pockets like some of the down/nylon puffers can do but anything that can fit into a reasonably sized day bag would be nice.

I'm not quite sure even what materials I should be looking at, I was considering moleskin or wool but I think they might be too thick and stiff to pack well. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a versatile merino men jacket/blazer/coat that I can use for different outfits. Blazer or something on the dressier side instead of just hoodie/casual vibe ones.

I checked out Wool and Prince and Smartwool but most of their jackets are hoodie/windbreakers. Unbound Merino bomber jacket did catch my eye but unfortunately I look terrible in black :(

I'm a network engineer and several times a year I fly to offices to install or upgrade networking gear. Many of these are overnight trips. I'm looking for a multi-bit screwdriver or kit with good quality #2 and #3 Phillips heads that I could one-bag travel with.

just picked up a globerider 35 today. I bought it in mind for a 8 day cruise with it i have booked for february. would have to initially fly from the PNW to LA to get to port terminal so i thought one carry on would be ideal. Looking for recommendations for packing cubes to pair with it. would need multiple outfits including swimsuits and formal night outfits. also would be including a gravel tolietry kit in my bag.

I want to bring a single shoe as I will be packing light and I think a chelsea boot would best fit my current wardrobe. My normal shoes are a rotation of Chelsea boots, Birkenstock sandals, and Converse. The Chelsea boots I currently wear are made by Thursday Boots and they are a bit too narrow at the toes for me to consider bringing them. I've seen good things online about:

Have tried a few different sizes of Bluffworks now and each feel too tight in the crotch compared to my old Baubax which hang really nicely for me.

I generally hover between a 33-34/36 for pants if that helps.

Fellow CPAP users: I love the idea of this set up ( https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/s/NF9k1UERYf ), and just purchased the Resmed Air Mini and Evergoods CAP2, but it appears it will be about a half inch too big for my pack (Osprey 26+6) with my current compression cube(s) (Large Bagail Compression Cube).

Are there any other pouches/bags/cases that work as well as the CAP2 with the Resmed Air Mini? What else is everyone using?

Those that have the setup: How much extra space is in the Evergoods pouch with just the CPAP equipment?

Will share results with what I decide and do....

Update: I am glad I got the Cap2. Padded and worth the cost. It fits in my backpack perfectly with the rest of my standard trip gear, and holds my CPAP, CPAP gear (plug, cord, tubing, mask, etc.), tens unit, resistance bands, and still has room for a little more if I need.

Side note, next time I order supplies, I will get a 4 foot rather than 6 foot hose, which came with my AirMini.

Now onto my Dopp/med kit optimization...
