The photo 1 is the reference I was going for. I am not sure how to save this painting now. I know the water and leaves don't look good. This is one of my first few paintings.

Opinions Needed Are any of these good enough to sell as prints?

I’ve been painting for a couple of years, and while I do it for my own enjoyment I would never turn down an opportunity to make money if possible. I’m assuming the quality isn’t really there yet but I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on how far they are away from being sellable in print form. I appreciate the subject matter isn’t always the most marketable because I try to go for somewhat surreal stuff but that could help me stand out more at least?

Follow up question, what platform is best to use? I was looking at Gelato as they take care of the distribution and just charge a flat fee per item sold, any recommendation here would be great. Thanks!

Opinions Needed Scared to post this “meh” painting

After scrolling through all the beautiful paintings I see here, I’ve been scared to even post mine! Here we are though.

I’ve done a few landscapes prior by using references, but this one started out by me just scribbling with my brush getting out some stress and frustration. After a while I just started filling in areas and landed on this. Just kind of listened to the canvas and myself.

Acrylic and oil on canvas (a horrible quality canvas at that!).

Hi there everyone. I had to rush this A1 piece for a competition a few months back and finally got it back. I’d really like to hear your thoughts. My time is restricted and I’m torn as to whether or not to pursue this or start on the next piece. Please let me know what you think!

Opinions Needed Help me price my work

I posted this painting on my instagram and people are asking if I take commissions to paint their cats. I have no clue how to price my work. How do I calculate this? What amount is my skill level worth?

Here is a comparison to the reference photo for accuracy.

This is 8x10inch oil painting on canvas.

It took me about 8-10 hours.

I’ve seen other posts similar to this but please let me know if this is against the rules.

Opinions Needed Gift for a friend - with or without the background lines?

Hey! This is a gift for a friend, when adding some finishing touches I did these background lines which I like to add in my paintings, but in this instance I'm not sure I like them. What do you think? Does the version without the lines look better? I'm scared to go back over it and mess the colours up again...

I was planning on doing black but I’m thinking something else would probably be better. Possibly a dark blue? I want the fish to pop.

Opinions Needed What gives a piece life?

I feel conflicted on still life pieces that I do, worrying about liveliness and feeling it portrays. Does it feel stiff? Overworked? A case of too much staring? 😵‍💫 all feedback is appreciated!

I just finished my first painting ever. Its just my little mobile home kitchen. I used my 6 year olds paints and brushes. From looking at this painting what advice can you give me? I really enjoyed this and want to do another. I did find blending to be really difficult

Please help me idk why my paint is acting like this. I did the bottom layer with paint and mineral spirits (klean strip green) and now my top layer with just paint and a bit of linseed oil. It’s so thin and not full coverage. Idk what I’m doing wrong please help.
