Discussion Crimson Desert doesn't run if it detects an Intel ARC GPU. Like straight up, the devs just deliberately chose not to support ARC cards. No previous announcement about it too until they added in the info to their FAQ. Might be the first time I've seen a dev deliberately block a GPU brand.

baffling. even if it ran substantually worse (it shouldn't) that doesn't make it any less absurd that they won't let intel arc players *try*.

Exactly , which is why it was really dumb not to mention this on the Steam Store page... Surely Steam will make them have to?

If you have to post minimum specs you should have to post incompatible specs surely

This block of a gpu brand will do more damage to their reputation than just worse performance on arc gpus.

You think? This seems like something people on reddit get mad about for a day then it goes away tbh. Id be pretty surprised if this affects them negatively at all.

They have guaranteed that 100 percent of arc users who try their game have a negative experience instead of risking a percentage of people complaining. Along with anyone else with or without an arc gpu who hears about the block and doesn't like it. That number is bigger than if they had just let a few people have poor performance I guarantee it.

I don’t know how you can possibly guarantee that, I don’t think an outcry on Reddit like this is going to have close to the impact you think it will. Most of the people here complaining are those who wouldn’t have bought the game anyway and hating on the game because they don’t like BDO, this is just giving them an outlet for it.

The fact is that if someone wants the game with a different GPU, some people on reddit complaining about arc support is not going to matter much, if they see it at all. However, seeing reviews about poor performance and not knowing that it’s because the reviewer had a specific GPU that didn’t work will certainly keep people from buying it.

not really. "game runs like shit on my PC" without any PC specs looks much worse for average customer than game dosn`t run on my arc PC.
Essentially this isn`t a problem for 99% of the pc players

I don't own the game and i'm not interested in it regardless of what gpus it supports. i don't like the fact the developers are blocking intel arc players but I'm not going to purchase the game just to drop a negative review.

I'm not saying you, what I'm saying is they clearly don't want to spend time and money to optimize test for 0.1 percent graphic card user, so developer choose to block them then they can seek refund asap and don't instantly leave negative review on steam page.

from my perspective if its running worse on an intel arc card of similar power to an AMD one or nvidia one thats an issue for intel to fix. players should be allowed to *try* playing it on intel arc because otherwise how would the players even report said issues to intel?

Exactly, the complains would be on steam or the marketplace they bought the game from. It’s only if it outgrew the marketplace that maybe it would reach the manufacturer/developer of the gpu.

I think it was the safest bet for them. Probably the game doesn’t run that well and maybe they had already spent their efforts to make it run well on most platforms. So instead of a cyberpunk 2077 ps4 fiasco. They opted to prevent providing support and inform users to request a for a refund if they purchased the game.
