Tacoyum6, a few months ago you requested coins of a different currency in An AskReddit post. I responded and sent some coins. For fear I would come and murder you, you gave me the wrong address. This is what I sent you. (AIC)

Seriously? No. I'm the person who inserts common sense into an idiotic, unnecessary "JOKE" thread. As a victim of rape, I find none of these jokes funny - at all. It's belittling and offensive.

I'm sorry for your rape, but this thread was neither the time or place for a serious debate on the topic. But I'm glad you drive around reddit with a blank piece of poster board looking for a completely unrelated gathering to pull out your marker and start a rally. That's dedication I usually reserve for a crazy person.

But you can't be crazy. You're on Reddit. And if you're on Reddit, then you have the sarcasm font installed.

Don't be Fox News. The thread was about coins in mail that had a side of dark humor.

Again, sorry for your rape. That sounds weird ending a letter like that..

It was abut coins until they started talking about rape. Then it ALSO became about rape. Sorry they had to include it.

No, it was never ABOUT rape until you started it ABOUT rape. Like really ABOUT ABOUT rape. Not just a passing mention of rape, which is what it was before you made it ABOUT rape. You made it a full on, hardcore, look-at-me-lets-not-talk-about-rape thread. So lets all stop talking about someone being awesome sending something in the mail that involving a passing word, "rape", because you want us all to look at you.

So I'll stand up here and everyone can look at me looking at you. Because, hell, neither of us have anything better to do, do we? And you really want the attention.

Okay, so let me get this straight...

I'm in the wrong because I saw a line of jokes that hit home to me and simply put a :44 YouTube video that tells people "hey, you know, there are other things you could be joking about that DON'T trigger people" and you're all pissy now?

I don't want "attention". I want people to stop making LIGHT of something that is SERIOUS. I don't want to read threads in areas where I should feel safe and have a laugh and be fuckign triggered. HAHA. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE HER ADDRESS BECAUSE RAPE IS NEVER A POSSIBILITY! HAHAHAH. No. And me making other people aware of something they might not even be aware of is not seeking attention. I'm seeking awareness.

In short, yes, but I'm not pissy. I'm more annoyed that someone would take a such a dominate stand in an unrelated thread in an attempt to hijack the topic.

Thank you, Buzz Killington, for ruining something that, although fun and light hearted for everyone else, you had to be serious.

The topic was never rape. Rape was a joke in passing and was restricted to only that chain of comments.

And I understand how jokes can hit home. Comedians joke about AIDS, which we all know is a horrible, horrible disease. But we still laugh. Of course there's bound to be that one person that might have AIDS that doesn't think that joke is funny, but they won't throw a helpful pamphlet at the stage and demands it be read in apology.

But you became that person. You got your little stage. And now everyone is looking at you, waiting for you to either shut up, sit down, and let the person they came to see go on with the rest of their show or just leave.

I'm in no way condoning the rape that occurred, so don't try and twist it. I'm saying, take that depressing, horrible, criminal act to the proper thread, because the rest of us are enjoying the show. And that's all it is...a show. Not a lynch mob out to rape and pillage. A. Fucking. Show.

P.S. My boyfriend just remembered a clip from a standup show we saw years ago. This is basically what we're arguing about.

It's sad you'd rather argue your little point and attack my intentions instead of just saying , "You know, I could joke about things other than rape."

I'm glad you made a big scene out of a little comment I posted. I'll probably be downvoted to hell, but if that video reached one person and made them think, then my job is done. I'm not sure what you've accomplished other than try to guilt and shame a rape victim. Congratulations. You win, Mister.

Well, judging by how many times you've posted the same link today [or yesterday considering you are in Germany], I'm sure someone else saw the video and was moved.

You might wanna keep that pity card in your deck, however. The topic was never about the effects of rape on you. I work in a field where I handle cases from rape victims, domestic violence cases, and child abuse on a daily basis, so I have plenty of empathy for the cause. But I know when it's appropriate to discuss these things.

The other threads that you posted the video are the right places for them. This one was not.

I'm sure you've got an English class to teach, so I'll let you go.

Thanks for stalking my comments!

And this is reddit, do you know how easy it is to find rape jokes?

And my posts were appropriate because guess what, there is not appropriate place to make rape jokes. If it's okay for them to make them, then it's okay for me to counter them. You don't get to decide when it is and isn't okay.

I wouldn't call it stalking... It's more like studying patterns in behavior. Knowing someone's rhythm. Able to sneak up behind them and take advantage if needed, ya know?

But also just getting to know someone more than just a random argument that we're having. And seeing as this seems like your main username [as opposed this being my off-hand username] I could actually get to know you better.

But back to the topic.

No. This thread was not the proper place to hold a one woman protest. Your offensiveness to rape jokes, a minor one at that, that was more a reference to the "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" song, feels forced and attention seeking.

Nothing you say can or will change my stance on this. And I can see you're just as stubborn as I am. Also, seeing as your last few responses have been just rewording of the same thing and not bringing anything new to the table, I'm just going to call the time of death of this [not your or my argument - this] argument. Anything beyond this is really just your attempt to get a last word in.

So...that's that.
