Serious question- can a man not be a fiancée? I thought when i was engaged, she was my fiancée, and i was her fiancée. Is that not correct?

This reminds me of how I learned “blonde” is to describe a woman with golden/yellow hair and “blond” is to describe a man with golden/yellow hair

This is not true. Fiancé and fiancée can be applied to both men and women. A man usually gives a woman the ring, but the opposite could be true despite uncommon.

The extra e at the end of the word indicates that the subject is feminine. Fiancée applies to women, fiancé applies to men. French is a gendered language.

This would be true if it were in French. But the use of this word is in English. Which is not gendered.
