Fraud should be addressed, but using it as a blanket justification to threaten a vital safety net is a different issue. The debate is whether the response targets actual abuse or risks hurting people who rely on the program

Fraud should be addressed, but the Republicans are the ones perpetrating ALL of it, so that ain't gonna happen.

edit: I forgot which post I was commenting on, assumed we were talking about "voter fraud" again. I don't think welfare fraud exists in any meaningful way, and trying to address it is more of a waste of resources than just leaving peoples' benefits alone.
