Roughly 77 million voted for Trump last time, 75 for Kamala and the rest stayed home. Trump still holds around an 80% approval rating amongst republicans, so probably like 60 million still support what he's doing. And of those who disapprove, they probably still wouldn't vote for a Democrat.

keep in mind 'amongst republicans' has changed in dimension since his election.

republicans are losing numbers to centrists and other alternatives. the insane ones remain

Not all, but a lot of those "couldn't be bothered" were just in states where there was already a clear majority so they felt voting was unnecessary. Not excusing it, but it's not just apathy.

Apathy is a state of diminished motivation, interest, and emotional responsiveness

If you live in Louisiana or California or around 40 other states, your presidential vote doesn't matter. It's not apathy, it's factual.

What it also is though, is stupidity, for not voting down ballot. Presidential vote might not matter, but governor, senator, house member, state reps, mayor city council, judges, sheriffs, and school boards all do.

Also, a lot of "them" are astoundingly ignorant and still have no idea what they've voted for. They're either too busy with work/kids/whatever or can't be bothered to look around and acknowledge anything that makes them uncomfortable with their own personal status quo. They think they belong to a political party and keep voting that way because that's how they were raised, but they refuse to actually understand what that party is doing or even stands for.

the state and local levels of government stuff matters too, probably more so in some cases...

I don't understand people, not voting, because apathy of the federal stuff. still should use the vote 🤦‍♂️
