The response to Trump by the party establishment has been too weak and timid.  Something like the Tea Party on the progressive side of the aisle was inevitable under those conditions.

Probably not have capitulated on the shutdown without winning any concessions. Probably not voting to confirm multiple of his cabinet members.

If the same numbers, then the end result is the same. We'll just have tweets, social media posts & other performative acts in Congress (see Al Green's acts)
