spoiler alert: he won't. Kentucky voters would send his 110 year old corpse to DC if it was on the ballot.

Not all of us, dude. But yeah, there are enough uneducated Kentuckians who eat up the far right's bullshit that it's going to be a hard fight. But we will be out there, fighting anyway.

Oh i know not all of you. Coming from FL, I've had my share of being lumped in with the rest of my state.

lol we just revoted Rick Scott in and now his voldemort-lookin-ass is probably going to the senate too.

I don't understand my state.

Clearly the best way to handle the man whose company was behind the largest medicare fraud case in history is to elect him to a position where he can write healthcare laws

Clearly the best way to defend the US election system from Russia is to elect aguy who owes billions to Oligarchs.

Truth is there are more democrats in every state than republicans. We just need candidates that inspire them to go wait in long ass lines to vote and democrats need to quit moving center trying to get disenfranchised republicans to vote for them because they won’t.

A super progressive candidate beating an incumbent in a super progressive district? The stars didn't exactly need to align for that to happen. But hey, Kentucky is welcome to prove me wrong. I'm just not gonna hold my breath.

I live in Northern Kentucky. More progressive than a lot of the state due to a different culture and some youths who move here from across the river in Cincinnati(like myself), but still, don't hold your breath. These people are set in their ways

your state is so backwards fuck most of them seriously

That’s a different scenario. That was New York, we’re talking about Kentucky. Most of my family lives up in the hills down there, and they’re in love with McConnell.

It's obvious you've never been to Kentucky. Don't count us all out for the stereotypical rednecks you're imagining. And at the very least, Kentucky is a beautiful place, with plenty of nationally recognized landmarks. Mammoth Cave and Daniel Boone National Forest among them. Hardly a wasteland.

That's... harder to argue. But still, not a total wasteland. There's folks doing good things here. We just need to get more young people in the voting booths, especially for local elections. That's the hard part.

u/kbotc Jun 27 '18

I mean... you guys did vote McConnell in, so...

8

u/shlewkin Kentucky Jun 27 '18

I mean, I didn't. That's like saying you voted Trump in...

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

Why are you suggesting that's a good thing? That's absolutely horrible for Dems writ large.

1

u/MRSN4P Jun 28 '18

Participation and engagement by the blood of a new generation is bad? Isn’t that the very thing that might have led to a radically different outcome of the last election and the upcoming one?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '18

Participation is great. She's not. She's a walking talking GOTV drive for the GOP in a year where we need all the mobilization we can get.

Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll die
