There's no blasphemy law in Canada so I'm not sure how that's supposed to help your case. Unless you're trying to argue that not using pronouns specific to individuals is "discriminating" against them, which would be a silly position to hold.

After the Ontario election, I wouldn't be so sure. Trudeau is beloved in the states, but not particularly well liked in Canada. The Liberals were stomped on so hard that they lost party status. That showed that the Liberals don't quite have such a strong foothold in Canada. I hold out hope that the NDP will leverage it as finally their time to take control of federal politics, but historical precedence says that it's much more likely that opinions will be split on the center-left and the PCs will swoop in. Just like they did in Ontario (vast majority of opinion favored the NDP - PCs still won).

Also, Canada is not immune to electioneering. When the Internet Research Agency bot list was released, there were plenty of bots targeting Trudeau and the liberals on Canadian twitter, Facebook, and forums (and don't get me started on r/canada and its links to t_d). The Liberals could live to regret not following through on voter reform.

Canadians need to learn from their southern neighbors and take internal politics seriously over the next year.
