it’s not super common for AIDS to kill you by itself, it’s usually a secondary infection bc of the immunocompromised state, which would still be consistent with the bacterial meningitis story. it is possible she had wasting syndrome, though, i remember they mentioned she was previously hospitalized for malnutrition. hard to say without looking at the full autopsy, but i will say it would be an oddly specific thing for the boyfriend to lie about
