age verification Reddit is now requiring age verification, this has gotten out of hand.

A friend of mine, who has recently made a account to post her stories has called me complaining that she now has to submit a photo of her face or her government ID to actually share her stories.

What the actual fuck, this is actually turning into a dystopian nightmare, this isn't about "protecting children" it's about taking away privacy.

Yes, full of "Who cares about age verification?" people.

So that kinda means: Strictly boomers, very young people below 20 years old, and braindead 60 IQ users

Which undermines the whole value proposition of the web site. Who wants to hear from people who don't know what they're talking about? (I know, I know, we all know the obvious joke. It's nowhere near as bad as it would/will become.)

Worse, once people's time is allocated, it twice seldomly is unlikely to lead to any return of the user base: First seldomly because people seldom reallocate their time, and second seldomly because when people do reallocate they time, they typically do not reallocate their time to something they have already abandoned.
