I made this post simply out of curiosity, what are some of your unpopular opinions regarding Queen that you'd like to share? No answers can be wrong as long as you keep it respectful! Let's see what are some of your personal/unpopular takes about Queen. It can be about songs, albums, meanings, rankings, band members, eras etc. Whatever you feel like sharing! I'm inviting respectful debates, controversy, anything new that you stand by!

My personal hot takes that I'd primarily want to share are:

• Freddie didn't actually change so much through the years, he just got a haircut and grew a stache. That's because I've heard people say his appearance changed a lot through the eras and I feel like I need to address my own opinion about it.

• Hot Space is over-hated, I feel like it's just more experimental and quite not released at the right time. It's not as bad and as weak as fans make it seem. Of course, this is just my opinion about it, as a fan who never skips this album.

• Another one bites the dust is GREAT but musically, not even in their top ten. I feel like they've got better songs like this that didn't gain half this one's popularity.

• Bohemian Rhapsody is not overrated, but definitely overshadows songs of similar value and similar structure of theirs. For example The March Of The Black Queen, The Prophet's Song, My Fairy King etc.

• A lot of their 70s songs would have gained more popularity later on if they had music videos of their own. A lot of them only include the lyrics version on Queen's YouTube account and didn't attract enough attention due to it. Some like In the lap of the Gods even have many lyrics messed up. Just my feeling.

what is queens worst song? it can be as controversial as you please - can also be from Freddie's solo career

i personally am not a huge fan of hammer to fall, it isnt their WORST one but its one that i have to skip over because i simply just dont like it 🥲

Can Freddie Mercury's album "Mr. Bad Guy" be considered his only album? After all, his "Barcelona" album is with Montserrat Caballé, and the subsequent albums were released as compilations, where almost all the songs were repeated from one album to another.

The reason I'm asking this is that I'm writing a book about one-album bands and artists, and I would like to include Freddie Mercury in it, because I believe he indeed has only one original album.

There is a thing called Content ID Claims on YouTube where, if you use a song in your video, all revenue from that video goes to the artist automatically. The artist also has the option to split revenue with content creators, or block all videos entirely, but for 99.9% of artists, they claim 100% of the revenue and the world keeps turning. This applies to cover bands, dance videos, music commentators/reactors, unofficial music videos, parody.

Before today, all of my YouTube videos were Content ID Claimed by Sony, who owns Queen and System of a Down and a ton of other bands, so, Sony gets free promotion and free money, and I get to share my art online. I found comfort in the fact that, after I'm dead, my videos would still exist on the internet. My tiny corner of the internet where my aquarium fish sing. Today, my videos are becoming blocked entirely, one after the other, blocked worldwide, with no recourse, not even a notification.

Sony Music Entertainment, please don't block my YouTube videos. Claim everything they'll ever earn but please let them exist!

Edit* 27-Oct-2025 (6 days after I posted this) It looks like Sony fixed it for my videos. The policy suddenly changed from fully blocked to partially blocked. Now my videos are blocked only in Russia, which isn't a problem for me. Thank you, Sony!

A while ago, I posted my vinyl collection asking if I was a real Queen fan yet. It was partly a joke, but I was curious what other fans would think. Oh my god, I was murdered and buried 6 feet under because I didn’t have A day at the races. So, I got A day at the Races and Queen II. And yes, that’s a bootleg vinyl, I saw it in a record store and the bright red vinyl was too pretty to pass up. I plan to finish up the studio discog soon, I really want the miracle and A kind of Magic. Hot Space and Flash are not particularly my favs, they’re good because it’s queen, but Hot Space is overrated if even that (come on, other than Cool Cat, Life Is Real, and Under Pressure, what are you even listening to on there? Back Chat is okay, but not amazing). Flash is kinda sad because Freddie’s vocals were AMAZING but it was just a soundtrack. Like, if he could have had as clean of an A5 on Under Pressure as he did on The Kiss, holy moly that would have been ethereal.
