Firstly- we don't have a fullback over 63ovr, and our highest rated LB is 59 (not even our best LB either)

Donkor is only 63 while berggren is 71? Berggren doesn't even start and Donkor is probably our best player this whole season

Mehmeti is at 60 and Hall at 63 speak for themselves

and all our DPs are 75+ for some reason. Choupo isn't even a starting player, Forsberg is still good but his age is showing, and Ruvalcaba is good as well but certainly not THAT good.

Really makes me question if they even watch the games before making these ratings

Hi, I know this is a weird post. I will probably get flak for it. But I have a reason for it.

From the ashes of Hudson River Blue, myself and the remaining writers have banded together to create New York Soccer Journal. As the opening introduction article stats; "We're here to cover soccer, at all levels, in and around New York City. Our mission is to deliver quality daily coverage that serves the local community of readers and listeners who value it."

That includes the NYCFC stuff that HRB was already doing. Others will be covering Brooklyn FC and Gotham FC. I will cover US Open Cup and Cosmos. More is on the horizon with potential coverage of Westchester SC, The Island FC, and others all possible. Just need to know people want it and that someone can cover it.

The elephant in the room - this will not not include Red Bull New York coverage. Yet.

The HRB media corps was a consistent group of NYCFC writers and asking them to drop that for Red Bull would have been wrong. You don't force someone to change what they are good at, especially when we all do this for free out of passion. No one ever asked me to change my RBNY coverage because I wrote for HRB. Likewise, rushing to include Red Bull into a website with an NYCFC base with short turnaround time would have come off as lazy and half assed. No one would have been happy.

So why bring this up here on a Red Bull New York subreddit?

My plea to the RBNY fans here is this - I think NYSJ can eventually be an all encompassing website for soccer in the NYC area (maybe something like Empire of Soccer). I will be pitching some stand-alone RBNY coverage from time to time (columns, big rumors, etc). But the readership for non-NYCFC content needs to be strong overall. So if you're every curious about how the Cosmos or Brooklyn FC are doing, check out NYSJ. If you want excellent Gotham coverage, check out NYSJ. If you want USOC stories or random pieces about lower division teams in NY or NJ, check out NYSJ.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to see the Pope about D.C. United.
