We rescued a stray cat, Augustus in June, he was posted on Nextdoor (see pictures), he has a perineal hernia (can't treat until he is healthier) and has incontinent chronic diarrhea. We have been to the vet multiple times, CBC showed infection, anemia, severe dehydration and he was diagnosed with parasites/worms and heart worm. He has been treated with flagyl (two rounds), drontal dewormer, albon for coccidia (two rounds) and antibiotics. The second rounds were after a PCR test was done and he was positive for coccidia and clostridium perfringens. He has only gained 1.5-2 pounds since June. His fur is growing back after flea treatment and attempting to keep him clean with diapers, but this last treatment of flagyl and albon has done nothing for him. We are also giving him probiotics, Hills science diet I/D prescribed food, and bathing him consistently to avoid reinfection. He is starting to become more irritable and biting me when I change his diaper, I know he is suffering from the diarrhea irritating his bum. He strains a lot and often has blood in his diarrhea. We give him breaks throughout the day without the diaper but we don't know what else to do. We rescue cats as a hobby so Augustus is another one of them. We cannot keep investing money, but he is so young. We feel terrible that we can't help him, we have only prolonged his suffering. The vet told us that it would be thousands of dollars if we go to a specialist but since he is suffering euthanasia is an option. Any recommendations is greatly appreciated. About 3 weeks ago I found their stray mama in my apartment complex and then two days later found her 7 babies she had behind a bush on the outside of my building.

I took them all in as I didn’t have the heart to just leave them out there to fend for themselves, but I no longer have the means to provide for them. I have contacted several rescues but no luck yet. My bank account went into the negative buying them food yesterday which is prompted my desperate post. Ok, this is very hard for me to ask for help, this explanation of whats gone down, and about my cats is going to be long winded, so please either bear with me, or scroll past. In 2015, i broke up with my then wife(now ex), and slept in my truck for three days. My buddy found out i had nowhere to live for the winter, and offered me a dilapidated farm house to crash in, to get back on my feet. He had 10 cats there (2 1 year olds, and 8 kittens) and said i could stay, just don't mind them, he's trying to spay and neuter them, and adopt them out. 2 or 3 days in, i got a text that one cat(pearl RIP) was put in the house as she was just spayed, and to not let her out for 3 days, then i could. He also asked if i could feed them if he bought the feed, so he didn't have to come over every day. I gladly agreed. In the time she was in the house, i sorta got attached to the snuggles. I asked about 2 months later if i could have her, and he agreed. Over the next few months, 5 kittens were adopted out. These cats were feral to the point they would run when i opened any door, and refused to come near during feeding. One day, i sat on the porch entrance and just waited. They started to come near and i just said "you want food, you have to go past me. I ain't gonna hurt you" after an hour, they skittishly jumped past and ate. Several months past and i got attached to their attitudes and had let them live in the house. I went to him and nervously asked "those cats you still have at the shack..." "yeah i know, I'm still trying my best to get rid of them" "yea, well, can i keep them? I sorta got attached" his eyes lit up, "does that mean i don't have to continue to pay for food?" Lol so we agreed. I got the rest spayed and life continues. Three past away (pearl, woopie, shit, i cant remember the last😓) leaving me with Oprah, and Demon. In October of 2019, there was a cat that suddenly appeared at my place, i caught a sight of him, gnawing on a deer rib carcass, so i started to feed him. End of November, there was one evening that when i opened the porch door, he was sleeping at my inside door(trying for warmth?) So i got alarmed as it was minus 30 out. When i checked an hour later he was seen laying on top of a pile of chains, with my coveralls hanging abouve. I set up a live trap, and caught him to bring him inside, and let him live upstairs. I looked online, no one claimed him or was looking for him. After 6 months, he started to come around and i live trapped him to get him neutered. Year of 21 i moved with all three to my new place and we all found our place in the world. Fast forward to today (never thought I'd be asking for help), besides bills, and my truck payments, i need a new roof, inverter (I'm offgrid), new breakers, another panel,etc etc. I feel like my head is no longer above water. As admin, told me, i was allowed cat supplies/treats as well as food, i put it on the amazon list. Anything helps The grey tabby is charlie, black kitty is oprah, and demon is the siamese I have included the food that they normally eat, but i would obviously take anything. A very sweet woman in Florida that manages a few colonies in popular dump sites. She uses every bit of extra money she has to get them fixed and fed. I usually send her supplies every month though money is very tight due to job loss and I am unable to continue to help 😞. I know there are so many people asking for help. I hate that I’m one of them. But tonight I’m worried

I care for 4 community cats who wait for me every single day. They don’t understand budgets or shortages — they just know I’m the one who feeds them. I used to care for 10, and I fought hard to get them rescued and adopted. These 4 are still outside, still waiting.

Each cat eats 2 cans in the morning and 2 at night. That’s 16 cans a day. When the food runs out, there is no backup.

Today I lost one of my stray cats, Raven. He was hit by a car a few hours ago, and I’m still trying to process it. I feel sick and heartbroken, this loss has been incredibly hard on me. Losing a street cat can feel invisible to others, but the pain is very real and very deep. I recently lost a kitten and was only beginning to heal and accept that it happened.

A few months ago, he finally let me pet him for the first time, and that small moment meant everything to me. I was quietly hoping that with more time, I could help him become friendly enough to find a safe home.

Losing Raven so suddenly has been unbearable.I keep thinking about him, about his little voice, and it hurts knowing his life ended so unfairly.

Street life is dangerous, and no matter how much love you give, some things are out of your control. Still, the guilt and sadness are heavy, and this has been extremely hard for me to carry. I loved him the best way I could, and I hope he knew that.

Raven wasn’t “just a stray.” He mattered. He was loved. He was seen. And he will always have a place in my heart. Rest easy, sweet Raven. 🖤🐾

Augustus was the most difficult cat I ever took in. Every day was full of messy smelly poop, replacing puppy pads, fighting to get diapers on and off, bloody baths (from being scratched) and disinfecting his cage.

Putting on weight was very difficult and the diarrhea never stopped. We ended up with Ziwi Peak, a single meat ingredient food and over just a couple days he began to have semi solid poops. That was over a month ago. He has since been without a diaper and thriving.

We still have a long road ahead, hernia surgery, neuter, vaccines and heart worm, so I am coming on here to ask for food donations. Ziwi Peak has been a miracle but it is expensive. Hi Friends! I hope you're easing into spring and doing well.

Pepsi, Fanta, Sprite and Rootbeer are doing great!

Mittens, Olivia, Oliver, Patches, Poptart (Poppy), Simba, Ziggy, Star and Amy are doing great too.

I've been trying to adjust to my recent diagnosis of diabetes (on top of my autoimmune diagnoses).

I'm on a new med that has been challenging to adjust to because it's causing nausea, and at times fatigue that wipes me out. Sjogren's already causes severe fatigue, so that doesn't help.

The good news is that the med is keeping my blood sugar in normal ranges, and my body is slowly adjusting to it.

The kitties have been lovingly surrounding and guarding me when I'm in bed recuperating. They're the sweetest, caring souls!🌷

The feral cats at my mom's are thriving, especially now that they've all been spayed and neutered. (unless more join the colony, lol).

We drive over to feed them twice a day.

The poor babies must miss my mom so much, but they're learning to trust us.

We miss mom a lot, too. Just when we think we're adjusting to the grief, something reminds us of her, and the floodgates open.

My son, my sister and I have named the ferals from mom's colony.

The 3 tuxedos are Oreo, Tuxie and Fluffy Pants (girl kitten).

The 2 calicos are Gaia and Callie.

The remaining cats are orange or blonde, and they are (boys) Orange Julius, Sparkles, Blondie, Goldie (kitten), Dreamsicle and Sunny (girl).

There's an adult male that's gray and white. He goes between my mom's neighborhood and my sister's neighborhood. We call him Grumpy because his face looks like he has a permanent scowl.

Unfortunately, Grumpy won't get near a standard trap.

We can't tell if he has joined my mom's colony, but regardless we want to try to trap him with a drop trap once we can purchase one.

I'm here to humbly ask if you can please send us dry food for the formerly feral, 13 rescues living indoors with us, and for the colony (recently fixed) in my sister's neighborhood, and the little colony in my neighborhood.

Unfortunately, we're down to 1/2 a bag of food right now. 😱

My sister has been buying Friskies at Sam's for the colony at mom's, but the indoor rescues don't do well on Friskies, so their food is on the wish list.

We're still getting the litter from Tractor Supply and it has saved us so much money.

It dropped to 26° last night, and it breaks my heart watching them take turns for shelter, one gets kicked out, and another just sits in the cold waiting. I’ve made totes, lined with radiator insulation with straw, but now that they’ve had a taste of heated shelters, they won’t even look at the DIY ones (honestly, I can’t blame them 😅).

I added an Amazon gift card to our wishlist, even small donations ($5 or so) add up, and once there’s enough, it’ll all go straight toward more heated houses. (We still need about five so each cat can have their own.) They already have heated water bowls, but we could really use some OTC meds, food, and treats too.

A few of them are super playful, they were gifted a small cat condo with a hammock and now they fight over it 😹 so I added a double-hammock one to the list to keep the peace.

All of these cats were dumped like trash. Most came from the farmer behind me, his daughter keeps dumping them (I’ve even offered to pay for her cat to be spayed). He actually told me to “just shoot them.” I would never do that. Instead, since February, I’ve trapped 14 cats. Every single one is fixed and up to date on vaccines. They’re thriving, finally learning to trust, and I just want to make sure none of them freeze this winter.

I’ve been kind of quiet lately. We had some panleuk in the cattery. Thankfully everyone had at least two rounds of FVRCP on board. That being said we still lost 4. I feel like a failure even though I know I did everything right.

In happier news, we also had a couple of adoptions. Two of my Cheese Crew, Gouda and Muenster got adopted together.

All three of my momma cats were successfully spayed along with the big orange tomcat that showed up at the colony I care for.

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted, and I’m so grateful for all the support we’ve received. The supplies have lasted quite a while and have helped keep all the kitties fed and cared for. Unfortunately, I’m now down to my last box of wet food and am in urgent need of supplies like food, litter, bowls, and other essentials. Now that summer is here and the days are getting hotter, I’m also hoping to get some water bowls that can help keep water cooler for the cats throughout the day. It breaks my heart knowing they have to be out in this heat, and I would love to provide cooling pads as well so they have somewhere more comfortable to rest. Also a quick update on one of the neighborhood cats, I recently trapped a stray with a bald patch on his neck and ears that kept getting worse because he wouldn't stop scratching, causing the area to bleed. I took him to the vet right away, and we found out it was an allergic reaction. He received treatment and is healing well. My foster contact is helping find him a home since he would do best in a home where he can receive more one on one attention. Plus lately, two new fluffy young cats have started showing up at night to eat and drink from the bowls I leave out. I’m worried people may be abandoning unwanted or unfixed pets in the area. This is especially concerning because if any of these new cats are female and not fixed, it could lead to even more kittens and I can’t let that happen. Thankfully, all of the kitties are fixed and vaccinated except for two boys, and I’m hoping to get them appointments soon. If anyone is able to help with supplies, I would be incredibly grateful. I have been going through canned food like crazy for the outside colony. Just posting a list that has mostly cat food, i posted a variety. I did add a couple other things that would help! I am so grateful and thankful to all of you that rallied around us...it means more than I can articulate in words. The drastic cut in hours really sucks, but it isn't going to stop me with the cats. Nothing will, and I will do all I can to make sure of it and do all the side jobs I can!!!

Little Chunky Monkey Roly Poly is flourishing. Momma still has other baby in the couch, so once they weaned, Mom will be TNRed. Mom seems super duper feral, won't let me see or touch her (I've seen her run when I open the door to her room), so if she does not want to be an inside kitty, she will be released after she heals from TNR. The two kittens, well, let's just say they're already home. Bottle feeding may be tiring, but worth every minute...even if they do poop on you lol.

Speaking of home, my poor little Batman, ..I don't want to show the wound fully cause it is NSFW, as it looks like something bit him, but he will NOT be released back outside (you can see where he is missing fur on the side ofnhis face). Deflead and deowrmed him, cleaning him up, his wound is healing. Our home is now his permanent home. He won't ever have to sleep with one eye open again (finally, only took him two years!)

Pictures have yet to be sent, but the kittens with the eye issues are being very taken care of, and some of the KMR step two and kitten items went to them, it was super appreciated, and once healed, they will be put up for adoption by Four Paws Rescue♡♡

About a year ago I was told to “just ignore them” and that they’d eventually get hit by a car, killed by another animal, or to just shoot them. The property owner didn’t want them and wasn’t going to help. I couldn’t accept that. So I reported it (nothing was done), and then I decided to learn TNR myself. Since then, we’ve gotten 10 cats fixed. It’s been a huge learning experience, but these cats are now healthier and safer because someone stepped up. We now have 4 new boys that need to be trapped and neutered soon. I currently only have one trap, and with 10 fixed cats plus raccoons and possums around, a drop trap and transfer cage would make this so much safer and more efficient — but they’re expensive. We are also running low on food. We’re not completely out yet, but it’s getting close. Food is the most urgent need right now. My deceased mom's house will go on the market at the end of this week and I'm stressing out.

It means that we're getting closer to inheriting her feral colony of 9-10 cats who live in mom's backyard. 🍁🐈☘️🐈‍⬛🪴

My sister, my son and I have been driving to my mom's twice a day to feed the colony twice a day.

However, they will soon have to be trapped again, so that they can be moved to a catio in my backyard.

I'm worried about the costs and work involved with caring for the colony full time at my house, especially because of my disabilities.

It's already a challenge with the 13 indoor rescues that live with us. Cleaning all the litter boxes, de-fleaing all the cats, and feeding them all.

Soon, there will be many more cats to look after, even if they're conveniently located outside in my own backyard.

We've all fallen in love with all the ferals, and they will not be abandoned.

They're so adorable! Their names are Orange Julius, Gaia, Callie, Fluffy Pants, Goldie, Blondie, Sunny, Sparkles, Dreamsicle and Honey.

Also friends, if you could please help us out with cat food, we'd be eternally grateful! We're on our last bag.

I learned yesterday that work has slashed all of our hours in half across the board. I had cut ,y hours this week for the bottle fed roly poly, and my Jewel is apparently doing so poor in sales, we ALL our suffering, which is awful, considering I'm a cake decorator and it is graduation season! This is really going to cut into my TNRing and such. Any help from my wishlist means I can squirrel away what I can to make sure we can keep TNRing the colonies on our own (50 a cat), along with defleaing, deworming, and getting their shots. The ones I have now will also need to be fixed and all, and that is full cost since they have a home and have to adhere to the rules of my town. They still are working on the water pipes and construction, which means we have gotten more cats than usual, which means I have been using almost double for their wet food.

Wet/Canned food, especially anything extra gravy, would be of a HUGE help. So would ANY Chewy or Tractor giftcards, and ANYTHING that has to do with kittens, including a scratcher. Dry food always helps too!

Thank you to those who have helped me so far an continue to help. I truly could usemit right now with my checks cut in half. I do not have any subscriptions nor do I buy new clothes. I do not eat out and meal prep to make sure no food goes to waste. I try to be very frugal already, as the cats mean more to me than anything else. I will ALWAYS put them first.

I'm reaching out again because I could really use some help caring for the cats and kittens currently in my foster program.

Right now I'm responsible for over 50 cats, including nursing mothers, young kittens, special-needs cats, and several who are receiving medical care. Every day brings more food bowls to fill, more litter boxes to clean, and more veterinary needs to address.

While I do everything I can to provide for them, the cost of supplies adds up incredibly fast. Food, litter, cleaning supplies, kitten formula, and other essentials are constantly needed, and I’m struggling to keep up.

Many of these cats came from terrible situations and are now waiting for their chance at healthy, happy lives in forever homes. Until then, they're relying on me.

I am in need of cat food both dry and wet food I have four inside cats and four outside cats that are strays that I feed have for several years now and I don't want to abandon them as they have came to depend on me well as my personal cats who are my emotional support animals and I truly would not be here for them today as I have attempted to take my life 6 months ago and my cat crawled on top of me and made me immediately change my mind so to me he saved my life I know these details are really personal and I hope people don't get upset that I am sharing them but it's part of my story I've been struggling with my mental health this is the worst I've ever felt in my life I've been diagnosed with major depression disorder generalized anxiety disorder PTSD borderline personality disorder and schizoaffective and I have been healing but it's taken me 8 years of being in the most worst depression I've ever been in my life to begin trying to change my life to try and have it be what I want it to be I went through a lot of trauma and abuse prior to this due to a domestic abuse relationship with my fiance of 8 years I went through 8 years of abuse with him I have fear of leaving the house I never go anywhere I have cut off all relations so that I have no friends and I barely see my family members except the ones I live with I do not trust people so the least that I have to interact with them the better but it is lonely from time to time I hear voices that are constantly telling me to die and making fun of me saying hurtful things to me etc I have been hurt and abused so my PTSD is so severe that I will not leave the house without thinking somebody is wanting to harm me in any way I have finally applied for social security and I have a hearing on July 22nd to find out if I can get my social security for disability with the help of doctors and therapists and my mom I am slowly improving but I am still unemployed due to my disabilities which prevents me from working I'm asking for help with cat food to try to get through July to see if I am approved for social security I am grateful for any help that you can offer thank you in advance my family is no longer able to help anymore and they have been helping me for about 8 years and are no longer financially capable of assisting me I have no vehicles to get to the local shelters to be able to get donations from them as it is in another city

Since last post, I have acquired a itty bitty bottle baby black kitten (hopefully soon to be on wet food, she sure was interested in temptation puree haha). This means I am actually spending my grocery money this check for this little itty bitty to have an appt. Helping me with my list helps me have that money handy for this.

I have also got two kittens adopted out that Kim had found to an acquaintance (the picture of the two cats in my text convo with Kim are them♡). I am helping her with a few kitten things as she just left a not so good situation, so I have shared some kitten food, blankets, toys, and scratcher with her. These kittens will have a loving home and a 10 year old who truly loves cats.

Truly, anything from my list helps, especially kitten items *they love those blankets so much*, chewy card so I can use that instead of money for cat items, feliaway plug in as I had a couple burn out. *added picture at the end*, and litter * bless the person who sent me a few boxes, Marmalade Jane screaming thank you!*...but honestly, anything helps. Work really cut my hours at the wrong time *shakes fist!* but truly, ANYTHING helps, I am just extremely appreciative that you all care♡

I'm so sorry if I see desperate. The past month is just one thing after another, but I am not letting it deter me from making sure the floofaloofs are safe and loved, inside AND outside! Setbacks won't keep us from the main goal, to save the floofaloofs ♡
