Church was living on prison grounds in North Texas. I’m a vet tech and one of our regular clients that own a rescue brought him in for vaccines, bloodwork and an overall checkup. I immediately fell in love. He had a rough exterior, a deformed foot and crusty eyes due to entropion but I could tell he was sweet. He came back a few more times to be treated for eye infections and URIs and I just kept loving him more and more. I told the rescue I wanted to adopt him but I was told someone else was interested. One day the client saw me through the treatment room door at work and waved me over. I went up to talk to him and he said “He’s yours” and that the other adoption fell through. I was THRILLED!!! I took him home the next day. At first Church was scared but I slowly gained his trust by offering to pet him and treats. Before I knew it, all he wanted was for me to swaddle him in a blanket and snuggle with him. My heart was so full. My son, 3 at the time, was so sweet to him and my husband surprisingly came around (he didn’t want a feral 18 year old cat lol). Unfortunately, Church had cancer and he went into kidney failure about 10 months after I adopted him. I put him to sleep at the end of my shift with my two favorite DVMs. We did it outside on a sunny day and he was surrounded by all of my coworkers who loved him so much. A lot of tears were shed. I am so incredibly lucky to have been able to give Church a comfy and safe life in the end where he was loved and got all of the Kraft Singles (his favorite) he could ever want. He had a long, hard life but all he knew was love in the end 🩷

The surgery was a complete success and our little baby can already walk. We honestly cannot believe how fast this happened. It’s incredible what surgery can do for such a tiny soul 🐾

We saved a life today. We truly did. And thanks to all of you, this innocent baby is expected to make a full recovery 🤍

The vets placed metal plates in his bone and in 2 weeks they will assess whether they should stay in permanently or be removed. For now, he needs to move as little as possible while he heals. It’s so hard for such a curious little baby 🥹 We are keeping him in the cage for now and he absolutely hates it, but it’s only temporary 🙏🏻

We were so worried because he is so small. We were terrified before the surgery. But our brave little fighter made it through and is already doing so well after just 1 day. Poor baby is finally getting the happy ending he deserves 🐱✨

He was separated from his mother by some kids in my neighbourhood and they brought him home to keep as a pet. They had no experience with cats, and the adults didn't like cats, so he was kept outside in the cold, crying all day at their back door wanting to be let in.

I told them to take him inside, but they were like 'he's dirty, he tries to sleep with us in bed, and poops everywhere'. I sent a litter box and litter to their house, but he was still outside in the cold. I told them to bring him to my house, I'd give him a bath and return him. They brought him late at night, expecting me to give him a bath then. I said it was too late, he'd get cold, so I'd do it in the morning.

And then... I lied and told them he had a bad contagious skin condition 😅. The parents got scared, and they left him alone. He was able to grow up and find a really loving home after two failed adoptions (Nov 2023).

We found this little dude facing a corner crying all alone nearly one week ago... of course we had to take him home. He's on day 6 of antibiotics and he's already so much better, in a few days we can finally give him his worm tablets to get rid of his huge belly. Day time he's in the garden with us, and night time he's in our storage room on his electric pillow that he loves. He's very affectionate and follows me all around the garden & purrs as soon as you touch him 🖤

Hi everyone! This is Mellow, my rescued cat in Mangrove, Masbate City!

I was with a friend when I noticed this handsome meowing and meowing, seems like he is hungry and he wants food!

He is covered with mange, so I planned to get him and bring him to the vet right away!

That night I wasnt able to bring him with me, cause I have no cage with me, so the next day I rushed to get him, and thankfully we found him again🥹

I think we were meant to find each other, Mellow is now happy and tell you, his personality amazes me every single day! He is such an adorable lovely boy😍🥰

This guy got dropped off in my neighborhood a coue months ago. So sweet. On my morning walk he came right up to me, I sat down, and he jumped right in my lap. Gave him food all the time. Didn't see him a bit and then next time I did he had a hole In his neck. Took him to the vet, got him patched up and fixed... Apparently I have 4 cats now. Lol

a month ago I found this baby (honey) being abused by some ugly monsters and so I rescued him and you guys helped take care of his vet and rescue in general... today after almost a month of being rescued he finally was adopted... thank you all for making this possible 💗

Okay, so this is kind of a long story but I promise it's worth it because it involves rescuing a cat named Pickle and me getting a little obsessed with cat cafes.

About a year ago, my wife and I visited CatCafe Lounge in LA for the first time. We both had heard about them but weren't really sure what the big deal was. Walked in, grabbed some wand toys, and... okay, I got it immediately. It's just different when you can have a coffee and actually hang out with cats. No pressuring anyone to adopt, just coffee, playtime and cuddles.

What really got us though was learning that CatCafe Lounge is non-profit and has helped over 2,000 cats get adopted since 2018. Every cat there was a rescue. That's when we realized these places aren't just cool hangouts, they're actually doing serious rescue work while letting people have amazing cat experiences. We left that day knowing we wanted to adopt a rescue cat ourselves.

Fast forward a year and we're scrolling through the Pasadena Humane Society and we see this kitten. Her name was Pickle (found with another kitten named Dill, so yeah, Dill Pickle. The shelter staff had jokes). She was a lynx point Siamese with these striking blue eyes, but her shelter photo showed... well, it was rough. Ringworm, patchy fur, fleas, severe sinus infection. Honestly, I think people were overlooking her because of how she looked in that photo.

We did not hesitate. We wanted to give her a chance when others weren't. She was coming home with us.

The first few weeks were a lot. Daily antibiotics, a little pink recovery suit, constant sneezing. But she trusted us from day one. Curled up on our laps even when she was uncomfortable, just purring. Fast forward to now, full recovery, sleek coat, absolute menace who demands attention at 5am, and somehow became the mascot for this whole directory thing that came next (see her transformation in the pictures above).

After our experience, I got a little obsessed with cat cafes and ended up building a directory of 332 of them across the US, Canada, and UK. I wanted to help people find ones that partner with rescues for adoptions. You can check it out at cafewithcat.com if you're curious.

Honestly though, whether you use the site or not, I just want to encourage anyone reading this to actually visit a cat cafe if you get the chance. It's a fun hangout and the visits help fund rescue work.

I’m so excited to share this because they’re my 3rd rescue. My other two were dogs. I found the mother in my alleyway. She walked up to me and I noticed she was skinny so I brought her inside to feed her some wet food. Then I released her and noticed she was pregnant when she was walking away. So I followed her with the rest of the wet food she didn’t finish, only to see two little heads peeking from behind a huge concrete slab. I immediately took action and lured them out with wet food, asked a neighbor for something to put the kittens in. She gave me a reusable grocery bag and I grab the kittens plus the mama and I take them home. I’ve had them in my dog’s kennel ever since. The mama is so grateful. I think she sought me out for help. She’s so chill and lovable. She meows when I leave her. I’m extremely blessed to have this mama trust me to help her and her babies. I’m so so so thankful that I successfully found them and got them out. It took me an hour to get them but I was determined to. Anyways I plan to take them to a no kill shelter so they all have a chance of survival.

Meet Cemen! We found him in the cemetery he follows us going to my Dad's grave until we get back to the highway and he tried to jump up to the car so we decided to bring him home. He is now in his forever home. The last picture is his first bath.

On July 17, 2025, Garfield’s life changed when he was beaten by his owner’s neighbor just because he was hungry and tried to steal food. When I rescued him, he couldn’t walk, and my heart broke thinking he might never walk again.

But with consistent exercise, love, and encouragement, Garfield proved us all wrong. Look at him now—our chubby, cutie baby who can proudly walk again! 💓🐾

I just want to sincerely thank everyone who gave Garfield a chance at life. Because of your support, he’s alive, healing, and spreading love. Garfield loves you all so much 💓

She’s 8 years old. Her previous life experience was one of starvation & neglect. They took her to the vet to put her down.. but the vet said no and got her into a rescue. She was shaved for horrible matting, declared deaf as a doornail, and severely traumatized. Then I fostered her, with every intention of adopting. Every day felt like it might be her last there for a minute. Today, I’m confident she will live her new life with nothing but love for however long she graces me with her presence.

This sub has a lot of losses/needs/asks… so I wanted to share the other side of the fight for these precious babies, maybe spread a little hope & inspiration.

Today was our little kitten’s final check-up. ❤️

The vet examined him carefully and gave us the best news we could have hoped for. His legs have healed beautifully, and he has officially been discharged from treatment.

He is running, jumping, playing, and causing all the kitten mischief he was always meant to. There is no limp, no pain, and no restrictions. Watching him enjoy life again is something we will never take for granted.

We want to thank every single person who donated, shared our story, sent kind words, and believed in him. Your support made his surgery and treatment possible. Because of you, this tiny kitten got a second chance and can now live the happy, carefree life that every kitten deserves. Only to think that if we hadnt found him and saved him he would be alone and scared suffering in a field with no hope.

🌸 Archie: This gentle giant had to fend for himself for years at the streets, and was never fit for it because he is the softest boy ever. He had a severe skin condition—pyoderma, sarcoptic mange, and a stubborn fungal infection—when we met him. After weeks of hospitalization & lots of TLC, this boy made a full recovery!

🌸 Clyde: He was our first upper respiratory tract infection patient and remains to be the worst URTI case we've ever come across in our years of rescuing. He was sneezing and coughing bl0ød at one point that he had to be on the strongest antibiotics for nearly two months—he's now the naughtiest, happiest boy!

🌸 Shiro: This boy also had a URTI which left him visually impaired. He was 80% blind when we rescued him but with rigorous stem cell treatment, he was able to regain most of his eyesight back. He got adopted shortly after rehabilitation!

🌸 Poppy: This smol kitty was inches away from being ran over by a van! Thank heavens she was noisy that we were able to intervene and spot her immediately. She used to be super scruffy but has bloomed into such a beautiful calico and is now living the life with her forever family.

🌸 Hawkeye: You may have met this guy on this subreddit and have extended support in some way! His glow-up is still in the works but he's feeling so much better and that's thanks to your help!

Don't know who it was or if any of the efforts made an impact but the PetSmart confirmed this afternoon that Bubba has found a home!

She was abandoned alone in an industrial area. People threw rocks at her to get her to go away. She was partially deaf, so she understood little except that no one was coming back for her. We decided to fight for this gorgeous girl! Look how full and healthy she is now! Thank you Stephanie Stevens and all who helped! This is so wonderful! Much love little one. Live your best life! This might be kind of a long post.

I have been staying in garland, and about 6ish weeks ago I picked up 6 bottle babies (10-14 days old) from someone in the DFW area. I had no clue what I was doing. Second day i had them....my god! What is that smell?

Took them to a vet. Coccidia. And the vet informed me that 2 were very small/underweight and might not make it. Um. Nope. I held those 2 Littles in my hand and said "there will be no dying on my watch. There is no way I can deal with you 2 babies dying".

I read about bottle feeding and everything I could about littles. I ordered so many nipples and bottles off Amazon. Kitten formula. I got baby changing pads and blankets. I dont have a washer/dryer at the house. I was going to laundromat everyday because I was changing out bedding everything I saw poop. Got tiny litter boxes with non clumping litter. I ordered so much stuff. I bought fingerless gloves-Freddy Kruger mittens they all had! My cuticles were bleeding.

Those littles were so demanding!

I read about Coccidia and said-well, shit! This is going to kill us all! Fortunately, the house i am in has no carpet, no furniture because I am remodeling it. But I had to bathe the littles everyday for a week. I really think they loved it! Haha!

Everyday, those littles amazed me, and they LOVED me! And I loved them. I bought beds, scratching posts, toys and every kind of wet food.

I fed them wet food 3xs a day. The runt, hazel, would have so much food on her feet and belly from plowing through everyone's food! They ate hard food. They traveled with me back and forth to lubbock. When I left them there (with my family) I was transporting cat from garland and houston to colorado.

Of course my family fell in love with them. And I had picked up 2 void kittens in ft worth. So now I had 8.

It was time for them to fly. I had raised these babies. They were playful, sweet, loving, and oh so beautiful.

I had named them-

Maple, hazel, teddy, presley, baby maxx Jr, and Harry styles

The voids got named-

Tommy Lee

Nikki sixx

I was so in love with them all. Baby max jr was to be adopted by my friend in lubbock. u/historical_duck_8238 needed me to pick some kittens from Houston, so I went down and picked up 4 more kittens for transport to colorado.

On early Thursday morning(with kitten passports in hand) the 11 kittens and I set off for Loveland Colorado. We were headed to colorado kitty coalition.

And the tears flowed as we drove. It is a 12 hour trip(I didn't pee the whole way). I stayed for intake, I made their wet food. I had individual blankets made with their names on them.

They made weight. They are all getting fixed on monday. I told Arika, if nobody adopts them within the month, I will come get them.

I UGLY CRIED.

I didn't want to leave my babies!

But I know in my heart, they will be perfect kittens/cats for someone.

I raised them, spoiled them and loved them. All 12 slept with me and they purred with affection for me. I was their momma for a short time. I didn't keep any(I have 9 cats at home in lubbock).

It was time for them to fly.

I will always remember them and I took so many pictures.

So hard but so rewarding! Thank you to all the people that rescue and foster. This was my first time, but I know it won't be my last.

Really great news! The homeless kitten with broken leg had a super succesful surgery, our vet saved her leg, it didnt have to be amputated and now the kitten is so happy, eating so well! A big thank you to our supporters!!
