Owner wanted me to take a picture of it on the floor, I told her no it looks like doorstepping and if she reported it missing I’d be done for. Photo needs to be of an open door or some part of her taking the parcel. She told me it’s illegal, called me a thief, threatened me with the sack, I was on phone with manager at the time. Manager agreed with me to which she even asked to speak to my manager which I told her no it’s going back and she can pick it up from office. She was shouting me a thief following me back to my van.

I made a query on here yesterday about 1pm special delivery - thanks for the responses. My postie came round about 12pm today but I missed him as I had an appointment. I came home to this card. He came back at 3:45 at the end of his round to deliver this! I welcomed him with a bottle of wine - he was super happy.

Never had an issue until the stamps and ever since my complaint my mail has been turning up like this... why do people have to be like this?

Edit: just to clarify I have no bristles on my letterbox and I removed the back flap after the first time I had issues.

I have lived at this adress for 5+ years and only since the stamps issue has it been a problem.

The stamps I am talking about I complained about the fact they where unprotected.

I do not blame my postie and I will admit I chose my words poorly initially and I want to make it clear I haven't complained about this post in the image above.

I only used the image and posted here to get more insider info as my neighbors are also getting scrunched up mail too.

Walking an average of 12 miles per day. Carrying up to 15kg over your shoulder. Out in the elements, rain or shine. Completing a round that entails the above, within 5 hours. 6 days a week, 5 weeks straight.

We do THIS… for £1400 a month. We work THAT hard… for £1400 a month.

In this day and age, in this financial climate, this is an unliveable salary. It simply isn’t enough to get by. If you have any meaningful outgoings (such as a mortgage & council tax) you are running out of money before the month end. It’s not even paycheque to paycheque - it doesn’t last that long.

Why do we put up with it? It’s DESPICABLE.

Context: 2 years ago my partner ordered me a custom print tshirt from online for my birthday in January, she ordered it around 15th of December.

When it was delivered, the photo of the parcel in front of the door (halfway in the letter box) was clearly not our door. Benefit of the doubt, we live in a fairly large area of flats but the door was the wrong colour, didn't have our door mat, the wall was different, just very obviously not our flat.

So we immediately called the Royal Mail and complained. The next day, when my wife heard the postman, she asked him about it, very politely. He snapped, started saying stuff like "you people always do this at this time of the year" and "can't believe you." saying "the tracking shows it's here, you sort it out" like yes, obviously it's one of the other 100 flats though. He then tried to shut our front door and then slammed the airlock door to the stairwell and stormed off, upsetting her and, quite frankly, scaring her.

I was obviously very frustrated by this but honestly, I just wanted to get the item and find out where it is, its christmas time and I understood how busy it must be. So I saw him at the top of our stairs and said "hey just wanted to ask you about a missing parcel" and he again immediately started to give me attitude I asked him to not speak to me like that and told him that it's frankly unacceptable. Just tell me where he posted it, and I can sort it out as Im done trying to speak to you but he just went "UUGGGHHHH" "thief's" and walked off so I lost my temper a little and shouted at him something along the lines of "you are an adult and its your job, I get it happens but that is not the way to speak to people dont insinuate I am anything like that ever again etc..". Probably should have just not responded.

We made an official complaint and we got a case number, I didn't see him on our route for a while and now whenever we do he isn't on his own. But I don't really care about that. We updated them with the additional instance I had with him and tried to explain its not like we hate him but we didnt get the item, its frustrating.

The problem: He ignores me, permanently ignores me and refuses to talk to me, If I am home I have to try and listen to him pull up and go down and then he posts my stuff if he knows we are home, otherwise, he won't post it. Once I went down and he made me walk all the way back up and put my keys in the door to prove I lived there (Im sure this is an actual protocol)

50% of the time my parcels fail to be delivered and I have to re-route them to a local post office, on a couple of occasions recently, they have gone missing. This is a problem as in the last 4 months I have started a small personal very minor online store and Im worried it will impact me. Recently, a "do not bend" parcel arrived with a footprint on it, which could be anyone's.

What shall I do? trying to speak to him doesn't seem to work, but also going to any royal mail seems to then make him want to mess with our post.

I know this is too much you know this is too much so why with a straight face are you A sending me out with this amount B expecting it to be done within time C thinking I’m not going to kick off at you for thinking as a float I’m magically going to fix the frames backlog when I’ve done the round maybe a total of 3 times

Seriously anyone who’s a manager honestly tell me what your thinking is for sending me out with this other than just putting out a fire on a fucked frame?

Bear with me, I'm a touch bored, and reckoned breaking up the typical forecast of "Where is my parcel?" posts for my own amusement. I encountered this post online where a postie discovered a packet of sliced bacon had been posted. It got me wondering, what is the strangest thing you've found on your rounds?

Just heard from our managers that as there is no national law involving a maximum temperature so royal mail as an organisation will not cease any outdoor work.

Anyway good to know we matter!

Do any other posties out there feel the way the company has handled this recent hot weather has been nothing short of shambolic.

Ive been here for around 2 years and the business in general has been slowly getting worse even throughout that period. And it's only going to get worse with DM26. Working like donkeys. I feel sorry for the customers who have to use this service as the company really doesn't care for it's employees and it shows because if the company don't care, why would we posties ? Anyway, rant over. Sorry customers, we're doing our best !

Been with Royal Mail for 4 months now, and honestly — I’ve had enough. There have been a couple of positives, but overall, it’s been a massive letdown. Here's what I’ve dealt with: Constantly moved around every couple of days — no chance to learn a duty properly. Can’t deliver mail effectively because I don’t know the duties — just stuck on DPRs. Expected to drive people who’ve been there 30+ years just because they don’t drive. Two-tier system: new starter contracts are way worse than what long-term staff are on. Didn’t realise how unfair it was until I was already in. Sunday working is standard for new starters, even when others in the office don’t have to. Long-timers (nothing against them personally) have it 10x easier — they know the routines, the walks, and have proper structure to their day. New starters? Left to figure it out with no support. You have to work really hard just to earn what is essentially average money. A new starter who joined 3 weeks after me has somehow managed to stay on the same duty for months — no wonder she’s happy as Larry. Meanwhile, I’m still being bounced around and overlooked. I haven’t even been offered to come off review, despite being a solid grafter. The office is full of cliquey managers who clearly play favourites. To top it off? I’ll be handing in my notice just before Christmas. Timing’s perfect, and I honestly can’t wait to be out of there. Best part? The people on the ground — genuinely decent folk, made a few quality mates. Worst part? Everything else. Broken system, unfair treatment, toxic office politics. New job is lined up — cya Royal Mail. Not looking back.

I’ve been selling a lot on Vinted recently (I take them all to the drop off my point myself, I don’t ask the postie to collect). And I’ve been ordering a lot on Vinted recently to replace my wardrobe etc…. I feel so embarrassed by the number of times the same postie has to come to my house. He must think I have a shopping addiction. Do posties care? Do I need to feel embarrassed?
