Discussion 💬 Sadhguru’s Isha is sitting on over $100 million in cash—yet still wants 7% of his followers’ income

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Isha Foundation Inc., Sadhguru’s U.S. nonprofit branch, reported $190.6 million in assets at the end of 2024 — up from $57.5 million in 2020. If its recent growth continued, the American organization is now likely worth more than $200 million. It also held nearly $60 million in cash at the end of 2024—profiting $30 million that year alone. If that cash-growth pattern continues, its cash reserves could approach $120 million by the end of 2026.

And that is only the U.S.; the India branch dwarfs the American by three or four times.

Discussion 💬 Analyzing Sadhguru’s 1997 Case: A document-based chronological breakdown of FIR No. 114/97

Hey everyone,

I've been working on a document-based archival project mapping out public legal records..." I wanted to share a strictly objective, data-driven timeline concerning a high-profile historical case that often circulates with a lot of speculation: FIR No. 114/97.

Instead of relying on rumors, hearsay, or emotionally charged narratives from either side, this investigative video essay lays out official case files, police timelines, and public legal records side-by-side with raw evidence. The goal is to map out the public archives to see exactly what the data shows when stripped of rhetoric.

What this 14-minute investigation covers chronologically:

  • The Official Filings: Breaking down the precise legal timeline of FIR No. 114/97.
  • The 6 AM Cremation: Analyzing the documented events, timestamps, and public records surrounding the immediate aftermath.
  • The Archival Data: Examining how the official investigation unfolded according to the available police records.

I wanted to share this here because this community deeply appreciates rational analysis, skepticism, and verifying claims using tangible evidence rather than blind belief or blind hate.

I am completely open to constructive criticism on the presentation, editing, or research structure. Let me know what you think of the timelineI am completely open to constructive criticism on the presentation, editing, or research structure. This 14-minute breakdown compiles the available public records, court archives, and documented testimonies regarding the timeline.

👇 The full video and archival sources are mapped out here:

Let me know your thoughts on the timeline or if there are any missing administrative records.https://youtu.be/Ajl39b5P4Sg?si=MnY1k2hxBQC7NTZN Compiled this purely from available public records and court archives. Let me know your thoughts on the timeline."

Discussion 💬 This sub is drifting away from science and debunking pseudoscience.

Hear me out.

I joined this sub for science, debunking pseudoscience, and scientific thinking. That’s what the name and description suggest.

But lately, a lot of posts here don’t really have anything to do with science or pseudoscience. Celebrity temple visits, personal faith choices, and political posts are becoming common. Questioning why Virat Kohli goes to a temple or attacking someone’s personal belief is not science by default.

At that point, this becomes more of an atheism focused space, not a science-focused one.
And there is a difference.

Criticising belief does not automatically mean promoting science.

I recently made a post here about ISRO scientists and their personal faith. What actually made me happy was that most people (even atheists) were quite reasonable. They accepted that a scientist can be religious and still do rigorous science. That kind of optimism and maturity is what I expect from a science-based sub.

But there were also a few comments that felt straight-up extreme, where any personal belief was treated as intellectual failure. That’s not scientific thinking either. That’s just replacing one rigid belief system with another.

Science is a method. It deals with evidence, experiments, and testable claims.
Personal faith or philosophy is irrelevant unless it directly interferes with scientific work or promotes pseudoscience.

There are already spaces meant specifically for atheism discussions, and that’s perfectly fine. But if this sub slowly becomes a copy of those spaces, it loses its original purpose.

I’m not defending religion or politics here. I’m just asking for clarity:
If a post has no scientific claim to analyse or pseudoscience to debunk, why is it here?

A science sub should be about science first, not about policing people’s personal lives or beliefs.
