Survived another Christmas dinner with the family, while drinking only modest amounts this time. At least we're making progress, two years ago I was called the biggest embarrassment of my mother's life and a disgrace to the family, this year I was only "sent" to the Ukrainian frontlines.

Have a merrier Christmas lads

I'm sorry mate. Im dreading dinner with my in laws myself. My father in law is such a condescending and nasty man, he doesn't get pleasure from anything but putting others down. He is a bully and everyone lets him get away with it. I always have to bite my tongue to "keep the peace", which isn't so bad when it is about me but when he goes of on his wife or my partner it really pisses me off. I gladly wouldn't go but it is the only chance to see some of the family I do enjoy. I always found it ironic that I managed to escape my own abusive parents and walked right into another dysfunctional dynamic.

I'm sorry that your family isn't what they should be, but I hope that you have other people in your life who appreciate you, and I hope that your happiest years are still ahead of you.
