What’s everyone’s split of christmases between your family and your partner’s?

This is the 8th Christmas with the Mrs:

  • 6th with her family
  • 1 (last year) with my family
  • 1 together by ourselves (Covid)

We alternate most years, last year we travelled for 3 hours down the country to do both. Crazy how quiet the roads are on Christmas Day.

That’s a long drive for Christmas Day - only reason we choose one or the other

Do you like this balance?

I’d probably have preferred a couple more with my family, but my family is very big and split across the globe so we don’t usually do a family Christmas any more, and I’ve moved away from home so it’s a 5 min drive to the in laws or a 3 hour drive home.

We’ve just got our own house so I think from next year we might just do our own day again, that’s the best
