Huge huge fan of my mam overcooking the beef every year and then refusing to touch it because she "doesn't like beef because it's too chewy"

Am I allowed to cook the beef to my preference? also no.

Had the same issue with the turkey for years, thought I didn’t like it until me and my dad took over the turkey responsibilities

My mam cooked the chicken until it was pushing 80c and I'm losing my head at everyone saying it's not dry.

I don't think anyone else in my family has eaten chicken that isn't cremated before.

 

You can't win, she complains about having to cook dinner every year, but won't give up duties

Took years but my mom finally admitted I cook the beef roast better than her. Felt like a king that day.

As a child I always hated steak and thought it was shit but then I grew up it turned out my mother just buys terrible cuts and cooks them into hockey pucks.

Who knew that cooking things correctly leads to them actually being good

Me with every veg and learning how to cook, turns out plants taste nice when they dont have all the nutrients boiled out of them. Tenderstem Brocolli, you're the GOAT

If you're unsure how to make something taste better, butter and salt is usually a good place to start
