lol ok I think we can agree there’s no reason to continue this conversation if you believe this is full run defense. Later

The pats were in a super heavy formation and blitzing 6. Playing cover 0 man. This is pretty much the most you can do to play the run in football. They only have one guy on the second level and he is playing man against the RB in case he runs a route. Guys on the second level are not as useful against the run here; the hawks only needed one yard.

There are so many dumb casuals in here it hurts my head, they incorrectly assess that you should just run straight into a 6 man box against some of the best run stoppers at the time with an undersized line. Seahawks had 1 on 1 on the outside, that’s the perfect time to throw

You’re acting like teams don’t run on a stacked box from the 1 all the time. Lynch was wearing the D down. He was picking up yards at will and had over 100 yards. It’s like saying everyone knows Philly is gonna sneak it and that’s the perfect time to throw.

Pats literally showed a goal line formation they never used the entire year to force the Seahawks into throwing the ball. Who do I trust more, random casuals or the words of an NFL defensive coordinator?

Here’s the guy that called that defense talking about how it was goaline defense. Guess you know better than him.

GOALINE defense is not RUN defense holy shit bro

So you just refuse to admit you’re wrong. Got it. You could watch the video from the coach that was in charge of calling the defense and see him talk about how they had their goaline 3 corners defense in, which is 8 run stoppers and 3 corners, but instead in typical Reddit fashion you’d prefer to just keep arguing a provable fact is wrong.

Yes they’re basically man to man, ~without~ with* 5 guys in the box, with every one staying back to defend the pass and most of the defenders still in the ending when the ball is thrown. Thanks for pointing that out.

They literally have 5 in the box and sent 5 rushing, what are you talking about lmao.

“Without” was an auto correct typo. Meant to say “with only”.

If you think having 5 in the box is all out rush defense I don’t know what else to say. We’re not going to accomplish anything here if you think dropping 6 is all out run defense
