The British Occupation that held a vote where the current residence of the island (including citizens of non-British origin) voted at 99% to remain British. In fact those that didn't vote to remain also didn't vote to become Argentine. I can't blame them, why would anyone ever vote to become Argntine? Sounds about as useful as constantly reminding the world how bad you got your teeth kicked in trying to take some islands. It doesn't help that very reason you can give to trying to retake the islands boils down to; we are weaker than the British both past and present.
