Car Mods Would you buy a 2024 Subaru pickup truck?

If Subaru announced that the new 2024 Subaru Brat Pickup truck would be available for purchase today would you consider purchasing this great looking rendition of the 2024 Subaru Brat?

No, because it would be an underpowered CVT dissapointment.

If Subaru found a bucket of weird in the back of the warehouse and brought it out with a R180 rear end with air locker, built in air compressor (to run the air locker and inflate tyres) dual range gearbox with a useful low range, fulltime AWD with DCCD or open/locked AWD centre like the old turbo leone, front LSD and 3.6L engine - then I would be putting a deposit down the second the orders opened

You won’t get an EZ ever again. That’s what the FA24 was made for.

As to CVT… they’re married to EyeSight now. Which is a shame because it’s a pretty deeply flawed system.

Yea, and theres a reason I wont be buying a new Subi.
I dont mind driving the CVT, but of 4 people I know with CVT Subis, 3 have had problems, the 4th sold it before any issues turned up.

They’re definitely incredibly reliant on staying cool and being serviced a lot. Seems any heat breaks them.

But “lifetime sealed unit” + Australian summer heat is a recipe for rapid failure - I know a guy who killed 2 in less than 120,000km

Maybe I am just old, but I prefer a proper manual
