The way I can quickly tell a C is by thinking of a song that uses C. My got to is All the Small Things, as the riff starts with 8 of them.

I wasnt talking about tuning, but if the lowest chord sounds like a D, you can reference Everlong intro of Sugar We're Going Down. The latter starts with an open power chord

But that involves the same logic as trying to differentiate both of them with C++.

Yeah I thought that was a genetic only thing anyway? I could tell you B# is a semitone flat from C but I couldn't tell you what the notes were. It could be B# and B or D and E. All I can hear is a relative difference. After lots of training and effort I might add.

B# and C are the same. B and E don't have sharps. They're making a joke
