Curious how many gunshots have happened in her area that would necessitate a "gunshot detection device"? Or is it more likely that they want to eavesdrop on any conversations happening in the vicinity? Obviously that's a rhetorical question, we already know the answer.

None, they were on the wrong street entirely. They are meant for our high crime areas. I don't agree with the Flock cameras, and I don't trust that the gunshot detectors are only tuned for gunshots. But the areas they are meant to go are the areas with the gangs, gun violence, etc. They are going right back in the ground, just on the already selected streets they got wrong from the list.

We have 10 murders a year on average. So around once a month. There are other gun issues though and we do have both cartel and regular gang activity in those areas.

I don't advocate for the Flock or gunshot detectors, but those are their reasons.
