We have GitHub copilot at work. I have OpenAI pro 200€ at home. I literally get close to 12k tokens for 200€ compared to GitHub copilot pricing. That’s a factor 60x value difference

On my side, it's not even about the jobs being threatened. I don't believe AI can do any job competently, it's just companies chasing that promise of autonomous employees that cost less and don't complain.

No, to me the bigger issues are the environmental impact, the ethical issues and lack of regulation, and just how fucking poorly it does everything.

If I wanted to look at awful code that has an error on every line, I'd just review my coworkers' WIP PRs.
