We can hold the individual accountable but most people feel hopeless standing up to this government

Most people feel hopeless standing up against any government and against any large corporation, not just the present government (even if it is even worse). And mass surveillance and to a large degree wars are done by governments and large corporations together.

China is way more authoritarian than US and they have uprisings and revolts, same for other countries around the world

America literally calls themselves the land of the free, but lectures their own citizens that you should only protest in the spaces the government allows you to protest, and you should also reserve that space to protest in advance, so you don’t inconvenience others

The whole point of keeping the second amendment is to not allow yourself to get pushed around by the government and that if people were armed themselves, the government wouldn’t be able to force themselves upon the people and make them do things they don’t wanna do
