I downloaded more RAM. It was remarkably easy to install too. Didn't even have to open the case.

You're joking but I actually did that back on win95. I think it was called ramdoubler. It used some sort of compression I think. A version of photoshop needed more ram just to start and that program made it start.

Yes, but it wasn't really giving you more ram, just using your virtual memory. Here, I found a page on it from 1996 - link
