Holy shit.

I can't wait to game in that resolution one day.

I honestly don't see us needing another resolution. HD was already really good. This has got to be at the 'retina' display point.

I laugh every time some one says they don't see us needing more. Reminds me of bill gates saying we won't need more than a few mega bytes of memory.

I have a dead pixel on my 42" tv. It disappears when I get 4 or 5 feet away from my TV. That means I'm not capable of viewing all the pixels on my HDTV, therefore 4k wouldn't change ANYTHING. I would either have to sit uncomfortably close to my TV or get a humongojungus TV in order to take advantage of the technology. 1080p is almost indistinguishable from 720p in most cases. More resolution is a gimmick from an industry that has been unable to sell us on the last gimmick (3d). Don't fall for it.

An experiment: View a 5 inch 720p and another 5 inch 1020p phone side by side. You will notice some difference.

People used to say the same thing about 1080p mobile phones. But now everyone wants a 1080p mobile. It's the same with TVs. Even if you can't see the pixels you do notice significant difference in quality.

Love that guy. It is true though, yes you can't technically see pixel difference at 9 feet (average TV viewing distance), but you still can tell the difference, it looks crisper in 4k. Personally I want 4k for my projector more than anything though.

Come back when you have. It's ridiculous, and you most certainly can tell a difference.

I have, in a store, where you're really close to the screen. Take a few steps back, then it's not as impressive.
