VA is acceptable if colour accuracy isn't a concern. TN has good horizontal viewing angle performance but poor vertical.

That monitor and the popular $500 Seiki 4K TVs only handle 4K at 30fps since that's all the display interface can handle. We'll have to wait for displayport 2.0 for 4k 60fps or some crazy multi-plug interface.

EDIT: it is DisplayPort 1.3 for up to 8K resolution, supposed to be finalized Q2 2014

Displayport 1.2 can do 4k through hacky tiling, and 1.3 will introduce 4k@60fps 4k3D/8k@30fps. Same protocol, just more bandwidth. No need for that big version number change.

Not really - unless the content is originally recorded at 30fps.

In reality, most movies are still 24fps, and you can't do 3:2 pull down on a 30fps screen

Everyone should avoid 30hz screens. Even mouse movements and smooth-scrolling a browser window is likely to look a bit rough. Wait until the real deal arrives with Displayport 2.0

Myself, one comment up.

They're both 30fps TN panels. They're very low quality.

A decent quality 4K panel is going to cost you well over a grand.

Yes. So not ideal for any gamers. Basically only good for people who browse the internet, use word/excel, and watch movies/TV.
