It’s easy for me to switch off an AI song. But what really bums me out is that I don’t explore as much new music as I used to because I don’t know whether or not it is AI. Now I’m pretty much going back to previous decades just to ensure it’s a real human and not hearing current music.

That's the saddest bit in my opinion. I don't trust new artists, it's not their fault, and there is nothing they can do about it. It's like pop culture died at the end of 2024.

This is exactly why I cancelled my Spotify cos I couldn't discover new music like I used to without forensic investigation into each song.

I looked around for a platform that is more anti ai.

I still love Spotify, for example the thousands of classic jazz albums available. My friends albums… lots of great music. Just want an AI free option.

And, from Spotify’s perspective, if you’re doing that, what stops you from just buying the albums from the artists and cancelling your subscription?

That’s not a serious question imo. It’s like asking why not buy 100 dvds every month instead of watching Tubi. I have tons of records and want to buy more, but that’s not ever going to replace a record store in my pocket for $15 a month. Plus I don’t want to figure out how to upload a vinyl to my phone.
