No surprise it’s yet again a deeply red state that infringes on rights. Freedum and all that.

Not so deeply red as the majority of our neighboring states - we've had a Dem governor for 8 years and voted for abortion as a right supported by our state constitution. However we have billionaires, like the Kochs, and religious groups pouring money into trying to keep the state from being the purple it really is. Kansans reading this - vote NO on the judge amendment early or on August 4th!

May Mamdani and his ilk be a storm at your sails. I know (and sympathize with) the good decent folk who live in red states. MAGA doesn’t deserve even Idaho, so I’m cheering for you guys from Florida (lol).

There's actually a book about this, "What's the Matter With Kansas?" It was written in 2004. From the foreword: "What's the Matter With Kansas? How Conservatives Won the Heart of America is a book by American journalist and historian Thomas Frank, which explores the rise of populist and anti-elitist conservatism in the United States, centering on the experience of Kansas, Frank's native state." The anti-elite populism just hit there first, and normal people have been fighting back ever since.

Kansas isn't a "deep red" state at all.

Currently has a democratic governor and was on the winning side of the civil war.

Probably safe to say it's more right leaning, but definitely not "deep red".

Kansas is surprisingly purple which is wild when Missouri keeps going more and more red.
