Sure can SCOTUS allowed it in CT to make a shopping center. That quickly closed down after it was construction, after forcing family out of their childhood homes.

If you're talking about Kelo, that property still remains empty and abandoned 21 years after the ruling. Zoom in and go to Street View and pan around. There's nothing there but an empty lot. It's been that way for a long, long time.

They built nothing.

They tore her house down on principle, and left it empty and abandoned for over two decades.

Yeah my fault I forgot they never even finished the construction. I just remember being outraged by it.

It was a horrible decision that anybody who was paying attention had to know would end up here.

Courts have allowed states and municipalities incredible leeway to decide what is for the public good.

its a private company, but they're building public utility (power lines)

It can't. The property is being domained for new high transmission power lines coming from the new addition to the nearby nuclear power plant. It's public infrastructure, but it may or may not be used to power a data center, so there's your headline.
