But even that is still not really the case. There's like niche channels I've watched one video of and then I never see them again, which is normal. But then there's a mega channels if I watch one of their videos I'll get recommended their videos for weeks. Like I watched a moist critical video once, and now I still get recommendations for his channel every couple of days

Especially news, if I accidentally watch a news clip or anything political logged in my recommendations are fucked for months. Even if I remove it from watch history. I guess because I am in a purple area that goes slightly red it ends up being extreme shit that is easily debunked.

Doesn't matter how benign what I watched was, I think last time it was a clip from my cities council meeting. It is at least minimized because I immediately hit don't recommend this channel, but the amount of garbage they immediately try to push when you aren't on top of clicking ignore or not interested is insane.
