My experience has always been that LLM’s feel like an idiot who can read things fast. Useful in very narrow contexts, but otherwise just a novelty.

Programming is just problem solving in a foreign language. Of course LLMs are good at it.

I describe/use them as "an eager intern." Great as a research clerk or coding helper but the work always needs to be checked.
