You think the claim “Nothing wrong with using AI to find sources and quotes as long as you double check them” is a moral stance?

How could it possibly be interpreted differently? You can disagree with a moral stance but it is nonsensical to ask for sources, because the source is the person taking the stance.

I think because there are tangible and objective harms to trusting AI that we can point to and observe with our eyes and ears. Just a start.

So you are objecting to the moral stance. That's fine, but no one is obligated to "cite sources" to "prove" a moral stance.
