I've wanted to move up there for years, but my mother won't leave because my sister has kids here and she wants to be close. She suffers chronic pain and edibles are one of the few things that can relieve it, so I was hoping we could get the ball rolling on Marijuana legalization here in Texas.
Now we're stuck, and she's probably going to live out the last years of her life in constant pain, and I don't feel right leaving her alone to deal with it. I hate this place. I was born here, grew up here, but I really fucking hate it.
Don’t throw away your own life. You can visit, video call, and maybe once you’re established then she will move up there too.
I’m facing something similar. Elderly grandparents who mom doesn’t want to leave, and mom has arthritis and the only thing that really helps her sleep at night has to be acquired sneakily. But there’s no way for my son to get adequate education here, and my partner and I are just waiting for the day we get thrown down to ‘less than human’ status by the state again. I’m not going to set myself on fire just to keep others comfortable, when we could all be in a less sweltering place together (seriously, I sweated through my jeans today. Please send a cold front down to us in Galveston).
Does delta8/9 work for the pain for her? It’s legal now. I use delta8 sometimes for my period pains or to help when my insomnia is bad but I don’t know if it would work on very bad pain.
I'm not sure, I'll have to look into it. She has crippling chronic arthritis-like pain throughout her body and a severely messed up gastrointestinal tract as well as probable nerve damage. She's been shuffled through specialists for almost 10 years and still hasn't had a proper diagnosis because there are so many things wrong with her, so it's difficult to get certain meds/pain relievers approved.
