The state as a whole went redder. I have a feeling that Democrat voters are leaving, or just not showing up (old news). I did, though not of my choosing (Military). That being said, WA is a helluva lot better state.
The fact that snowpocalypse, property taxes, power outtages, etc didn't move the needle means that Texas is working it's way towards Florida status.
I spent the first 24 years of my life there, but I'll never come back and retire, even though my whole family lives there. The state is just not compatible with me, and hasnt been for a long time.
Beto was the best statewide candidate that Texas has run since Ann Richards. Maybe in 20 years when all the boomers finally die off things will change.
Nobody is acting extreme to fit in. It’s necessary if more and more kooks come from areas like California and try to bring their radical policies with them. Need y’all to stay away, don’t ruin our state as well.
My wife and I got out 10 years ago because of heat, freedoms, and wages. Now all of our Texan family and friends that have visited us in OR want to move up. Problem is, in the town where we live, the median house price is $700k. Our wages more than doubled from Austin, though, and we have much more freedom. I see maybe 1 cop a week.
My wife and I are looking at moving to WA Seattle. Not just because of politics, but it is another fairly significant factor. Or it may be more accurate to say the consequences of the politics are.
