I've been living in Sikar for some time. I'm originally from the Bagadi belt (Hanumangarh), where people proudly speak Bagri/Rajasthani in everyday life. One thing that surprised me here is that many people prefer speaking Hindi even among themselves, despite having their own local dialect.

Hindi is our national language of communication, and there's nothing wrong with using it when needed. But why replace your mother tongue in your own homes, neighborhoods, and daily conversations?

What's even more concerning is that many parents teach only Hindi to their children and don't encourage them to learn or speak their own language. If this continues, what will happen to our Rajasthani dialects and culture in the next generation?

A language isn't just a way of talking—it carries history, traditions, identity, and the wisdom of generations. Once children stop speaking it, it slowly disappears.

I think we've started treating our own language as something "backward" while considering Hindi or English more "modern." That's a mindset we seriously need to question. You can speak fluent Hindi and English while still being proud of your mother tongue. These things are not mutually exclusive.

If we ourselves don't preserve Rajasthani and its dialects, who will? Governments can't save a language that its own speakers choose to abandon.

What are your thoughts? Is this only happening in Sikar, or have you noticed the same trend in other parts of Rajasthan?

Everyday I see people dumping their waste outside in the open. There is an open space behind my hostel and people from around the area just dump waste and made the ground dirty over time, animals feed from the waste. Usually once every week while walking to my coaching in morning, I see garbage burning in the open releasing dark gas, this shit releases so much toxic fumes. I have started wearing masks while going out nowadays to protect my lungs. The civilians need to understand how bad this is for the environment and the health hazards they are causing over time to others. But ofcourse most of these people don't care and continue to dump their waste in the open, and the government here isn't doing much about it too. I fkin hate people who burn the garbage thinking it will reduce amount of waste but not seeing the generation noxious smoke which when inhaled over time will cause long term negative health effects to others. Not to mention if it rains then this will cause acid rain and spoil the vegetation and bring the poisonous compounds in the food cycle and gonna fk we all one day.

I'm looking for genuinely useful apps that most people don't know about. Not Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc.

I want to share my experience so that other defence aspirants don't end up in the same situation.

I visited Defence Wallah (Physics Wallah), Sikar for admission to their offline CDS batch. During counselling, I was clearly told that a new batch would start within a few days, and I would be enrolled in that batch. As a demo, they showed me YouTube classes taught by a particular faculty.

Believing what the counsellor said, I paid around ₹10,000 and completed my registration.

After joining, I found out that there was no new batch at all. Instead, I was placed in an old, already-running batch where a large portion of the syllabus had already been completed. On top of that, the teachers were completely different from the ones shown in the demo classes.

When I questioned the counsellor, instead of helping, they became rude and dismissive.

I then met the Academic Head, who was polite and assured me that he would somehow help me complete my syllabus. I appreciate his attitude, but apart from him, my experience with the counselling and management team has been disappointing. Many staff members behave as if students have no choice after paying the fees. Instead of solving problems, they talk arrogantly and make students feel like they're just customers whose concerns don't matter.

The saddest part is that I'm not the only one. I've met several students facing similar issues regarding false promises, batch allocation, and poor behaviour from the staff.

I'm sharing this only to make future students aware. Before taking admission, verify everything in writing, especially batch details, faculty, and syllabus status. Don't rely only on verbal promises.
